Bahhhh…if you’ve even been following my entries for the last few days…you know the only thing I’m consistent about is being INconsistent.
Yesterday was really good. I don’t even remember what I had written about it…but it was a really day with my sister.
Today, I woke up late, around 7:30-8. I had a massage to get to by 10:15 and returns to make at Target. This freaking Ember mug fiasco. So, yesterday we went to Target. Along with all of the other things I got…that I didn’t intend to buy – I went for a milk frother – I found a DEAL sticker for 50% Ember mugs, the sage green was the one behind the sticker. So, I got it. I didn’t check my receipt until I got home…I couldn’t figure out how I spent $355 on the small amount of stuff that I did get, but I was with my sister and I thought, well maybe I just wasn’t concentrating on everything I was doing. When I checked the receipt…I was charged the full price of $150. I LOVE the Ember mugs…but no way am I paying full price when they frequently go on sale everywhere else! So I took it back this morning…told the sales associate the story, she called someone to go check the aisle to see if there was a sticker anywhere near where the Ember mugs were, she said “no, there aren’t any promos near the Ember mugs.” So I requested to just return the mug. After I returned it, I went over to the aisle where I found it…I just felt like they thought I was making shit up…and I know I wouldn’t have purchased this at full price. Well…
The EXACT same mug I had bought…was there…right behind the sticker. I took this picture…brought it back up to the desk and showed them. I thought maybe the other sales associate wasn’t looking in the right direction…because it was literally right there with all of the other Ember mugs. Annnd all of the other colors – black and white…were off to the side with the original price listed. I bought the sage green one…and today, there is another sage green one behind the sticker…so that just makes sense to me that it’s only this color on clearance.
I took it back up to the counter…I just wanted to show them that I wasn’t full of shit..and that for sure, someone else is going to make the same mistake I did and purchase this thinking they are getting 50% off. They did end up honoring the listed price…but no one…while I was standing there for 15 minutes communicated to another sales associate that they should remove the clearance sticker. When they looked it up it was suppose to be for the 10oz white Ember mugs…which were nowhere around…there wasn’t a 10oz, only the 14oz.
All of that to say…that it was just really frustrating. I know they are working on an hourly wage…annnnd it’s also their job. At least remove the sticker.
My roommate is sick today. Same thing I had last week. She was the one that gifted me the massage today…and while I am super thankful that she did…it was the WORST massage I’ve ever had. I realize at this moment that I am complaining a lot today. It’s just been like that today for whatever reason. The woman who was giving me the massage was so unfriendly…like oddly unfriendly for being a massage therapist. It felt like she was rushing through everything…I walked in around 10:05, my appointment was at 10:15, I got back into the bed at 10:20-10:25 and my massage was done at 11:05…and it was a 60-minute massage that was booked. It felt rushed…and I couldn’t stop thinking about how uncomfortable I was letting her massage my neck. I won’t go back or recommend her. I realize everyone has their bad days, but when you’re working in the service industry…at least make an effort, please. They also use carrier oil instead of any essential oils which put me off also. It was gifted to me from my roommate so as appreciative as I am, I won’t go back regardless of price.
I will stick to my regular massage therapist. I really love her.
Today I have plans of at least making the garage a little bit more manageable. The amount of cardboard…and straight up shit that we have in there is overwhelming. We have boxes and boxes, and then totes of decor we need to either sell or donate, along with clothes and shoes and storage and all of the paddle boards and summer things that…while it is high 90’s this week/weekend…we need to move them out to make that space more efficient and not such a shit show.
Our landlord is coming over this weekend to shut off the sprinkler system…which I think with these temperatures is a little premature…but we will see what he has to say about all of that when he gets here. My roommate also needs to take all of the screens to get fixed because her dog has literally ate through all of them. There’s one that must be completely replaced…not just the screen because the window frame is destroyed. I want nothing to do with that. This is ALSO the reason I didn’t sign the lease or put down the deposit.
I have a huge day tomorrow. It’s going to be good, but very busy, so I know I won’t have the time to address this tomorrow night…and my roommate is sick so I know she won’t have the time either. I am low-key worried about the snakes though. We have SO many in our yard and in the crawlspace that I can‘t help thinking I’ll find one in all of the shit we have in there. Here’s to NOT finding any snakes or scary spiders, haha. We have two garage storage unit shelves that need assembled so that we can actually fit everything and then I can move my computer into the laundry room.
I accepted a VA job for one of the ladies I used to VA for. I love her so much…and I love the graphic design work and creativity she allows me, so I’m really excited about this. But it absolutely requires me to bring back my computer and set up somewhere at home. The only place that we really have any space to do this is in the laundry room. We will see how that works out…but that’s the motivation for cleaning the garage and making it a little more useful during the colder months…and so that I can be most efficient.
It’s HOT today like I mentioned…I’m outside on the patio with my iPad writing this and I’m drenched in sweat. I will start the garage after I relax for another 30 minutes. Then…I’ll get after it.
