The One Where Jen Realizes a Doubly Important Date

I finally got around to looking up a 2002 Calendar for the month of November… I don’t think it was until earlier tonight I realized something really important in my life. November 22 is a doubly important date.

Five years ago I got to hold Madelyn for the first time on November 22.

In 2002 the phone rang on November 22 as I was getting ready for work. It was Dan and it turned out later that it was the last time I would hear his voice over the phone. A call I will forever hold in my heart. He called and when I first heard his voice I was kind of frustrated because I knew he knew I had to work. He asked about sizes for Hannah and immediately I felt guilty; he was trying to get his Christmas list together. I think I wished him an early Happy Thanksgiving and now I wish that call could have been longer.

I’m thinking the last time I saw him was November 9, 2002.. still thrilled we made it to that one.

Okay enough of that; I don’t know why he’s on my mind so hard right now.
