RaNt… enter with caution

I feel like the rest of the world is getting out of this town while I am trapped.

Vacation is cancelled for me so I am stuck dog sitting AGAIN. I don’t want to dog sit; my faves will remember the struggle last year. I hate being stuck here through the fourth every year. I hate spending every night worrying about the dogs in the basement and whether or not Clover is going to get hit by a firework (I’ll bring her in on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th for the night) but I can’t be at the house every waking second. It looks like I am going to be cat sitting as well for Kathy and her family while they go to Blue Lake for the holiday too. I suppose I could have said no to that one, but I’m going to be TRAPPED here anyway so I might as well help out. It will be good Karma, right?

I did the right thing with my vacation money though; I paid up some professional dues to keep my hand in their job pools and I paid off some bills I had been paying the minimum on. Then my lovely car decided to overheat on the way to work tonight which really just ticked me off. I managed to get into the parking lot and after my shift I added the coolant but I figured this problem would have been resolved by now! I put enough money into it when I first got my taxes why didn’t they catch what is causing this problem then?

I made myself a  list of things I want to get done while they are gone again this year. I asked Kathy about helping me with the pricker bushes out front and she agreed so I just need to make sure I have bags for htem and I should be all good on that front. I am totally getting the livingroom organized and the baby toys out of the house. Same goes for the front porch. I’m hoping I can get Pat to help me haul the junk to good will. If I felt energetic I would totally tackle the garage but I think the livingroom, diningroom, porch, and my bedroom will be awesome if I can get them all done. I’m hoping to get a good start on this tomorrow by cleaning out my chair beside the computer.

I have a couple of things I want to get into frames and up on the walls in my room and I want to get my closet organized again before the kids start school. I’m thinking about getting a chest of drawers for the livingroom so I can keep school clothes (they go to a public uniformed school), socks and Underwear where I can see them. With the clothes line in the yard I think I’ll be able to to up to 8 loads a day and sort the junk directly into the trash without bringing it back into the house. I have a sneaky feeling the trash bins and recycle bins are going to be filled completely twice over by the time the family gets home. At the moment I can only pray for the strength and endurance to do this.

I think my biggest disappointment is the fact I wont’ be able to get my bear for JA picked out from an exotic location and give him a good story to put in his scrapbook. That was one of my goals for vacation; I was hoping to get a fairly small to medium bear with a bean bag belly to travel with me and take photos of at prime locations and the schools I visit so he could have his own stories to tell the kids. I thought about asking a far away friend to do it, but the quesiton is who to ask? If Pat goes to Utah this year that could be tempting, but that’s still iffy and I wouldn’t have it in time for the early fall classes.

You could send him to me in Virginia. I might even be able to get him to DC.

You could send him to me in CO. I could probably get him to Germany. My daughter is stationed in Germany. RYN: What is CB?
