Entry 392

That point when you decide to part with things you’ve owned for years and not sure how to feel about it.

I’ve decided to give my apartment a decent clean because I haven’t in the almost-year I’ve lived here. I do the norm stuff but in this case, I’m bleaching the tub and cleaning the dirt off the light switches. That type of stuff.

But then I’m also gonna go through a few of my things and either sell it or toss it.

I got all these Tripp clothes and I’m not fond of the idea of wearing the pants since they are so ridiculous. Too many metal things on them, annoying chains, bell bottomish, and this list goes on and on. Don’t mind the shorts, if they aren’t too full of metal shit, but I’ve worn them for years and we all know how black clothes look after a few years of going through washes and being in the sun.

Will also be parting with my collection of Gothic Beauty Magazines. I have such old issues, dating all the way back to Issue 3, when there were no color pages. All they do is sit in a plastic bin and frankly, I don’t care to read them again nor care for the fashion as I used to.

Like several other people, I’m okay with a comfy pair of norm pants and a hoodie. No need to be up on all the goth fashion to go to Best Buy looking as out there as possible… (and then being confronted to check my bags, because it ALWAYS happened to me).

Will also be parting with my TV series boxes of shows. I don’t even put in DVD’s to watch, so why keep my 15 seasons of South Park, y’know? At least for those, I can copy it to computer then sell them to the used store right around the corner. Even if I only get a few dollars, it’s better than nothing, right?

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Edit:

I think part of the reason behind doing this is having watched numerous episodes of Hoarders made me want to rummage through my things. I really dunno why I held onto some things.

Headphones that play through only one side, game guides for games I don’t own anymore or care to play again. There was a red ringed Xbox360 in my closet that I can’t sell because the system was opened. WHY DO I STILL HAVE IT!??!?!

I am taking this time to briefly go through my things but plan to do it again later on. There is no need for me to have all this art stuff or have 6 keyboards. In my closet, I found a blue hoodie that I got from when I was married. That means it’s 10 years old. The blue on it is definitely not blue and at this point, I think the only reason I have it is because it was from that marriage, as I haven’t worn it in forever.

Some stuff I’m finding hard to part with, even though I should, is stuff like books that my dad gave me, saying I might like it. It’s gifts from my parents or people that I find an issue with. These books he’s given me, I’m likely not to read them because I’m busy with other things. I don’t wanna give it away but what is the point of holding onto them?

Guess we’ll see how much more stuff I can clear out.

………..
TL:DR Edition:

Selling/Tossing stuff cause I have no needs for them.
