Where’s the line to see Jesus~

I was watching a music video yesterday. And in the video was a boy that asked a lady in a store:  "Where’s the line to see Jesus? Is He here at the store?
If Christmas time is His birthday,
Why don’t we see Him more?"

As the singer in the music video said: the message was profound.

I wonder…what if we had people impersonate Jesus, and had ‘them’ in all the stores, waiting to hear about all of his children’s dreams and hopes , wants and desires. Who would the children most likely go to: Santa or Jesus..or would they probably want to go to both Santa and Jesus?  But who would they first line up to see?

Why can’t we have Jesus in all of the stores, waiting for the children to come to him?  I suppose, though, that it would be quite a challenge to find so many people to take on the ‘role’ of Jesus!  Me thinks that we would have to carefully screen the candidates for the job of Jesus.  But what a job that would be! Not to mention that it would probably be great publicty for any stores that would hire Jesus.

Sounds like a pretty good idea to me.  Let’s see though, who would be offended by Jesus in a department store…..I don’t think that a person who is playing Jesus could be considered to violate that often cited non-constitutional idea of separation of Church and state. Even if for argument’s sake ‘it’ would violate some imagine constitutional amendment, stores can’t be consider to be part of the state or part of the church. So, I don’t see a problem with the idea of Jesus welcoming all of his childen..be they big kids, older kids, or young kids, at a store.

Editing…the above entry was kind of a subtle protest how our Christian societies has a rather crude way of celebrating Christmas…and how maybe we could find a politically correct way of Jesus meeting a massive amount of people in a public place, and offering them comfort, love, friendship, all the gifts that are spiritual not material.  Santa Claus is a nice story. But it should just be a secondary story. Jesus should be the main story. But sadly, I think that for the most part, Jesus takes a back seat to Santa!

That is a good idea … To have some men to dress up as Jesus. I mean we have Santa and why not Jesus? It is anyway, Christmas is the symbolic time for celebrating HIS existence – where else we do know that it is not his birthday! *smile*

We used to have a Santa figure that moved while holding a lighted candle that my late Hubby liked. It was placed on the right side of our fireplace. I couldn’t stand that awful thing! It really gave me “the creeps!” After Hubby’s passing, I got rid of it! No, it is NOT Santa’s birthday; our celebrating Christmas Day should be the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ of Nazereth. Love, Liz

Re: That girl would get a kick out of the pencil top erasers for backs to her earrings no doubt; once she got over being angry, that is, don’t you think? Love, Liz

I came here and watched the video. Beautiful and meaningful song. Christmas celebration for us has changed so much over the years. Now it’s more of receiving the spiritual stuff and not so much on the material part of it. It’s the time of year when we make extra effort to be closer to Jesus and feel His touch deep within our hearts. Of course, the beautiful Christmases gone by still brings ..
