Jesus reflecting & communing with his father~

Jesus told his mother that he was going out to the wilderness to relect, and commune with his father.
He reflected on his life…at the age of twenty seven, he was seen by most people in town as just one of the ordinary folks in town. Oh, there were many occasions in his life when it was the will of his father that he would become a healing instrument for the sick and dis-ease. And actually, there were many people in town that Jesus was a saintly person, one that was close to God because of the miarcles that he performed. But because he came to the sinner and the poor, those were the ones which received the great majority of the healings.  What could they say to people about Jesus?  The great sinners that he healed knew nothing about the scriptures, about the messiah, or even had any knowledge about the prophets.  They just knew that Jesus led them to seek a life of holiness.  The poor: they were often illiterate and had no fancy notions about a savior within their midsts.  They just knew that he was a man of God.  Oh, Jesus did heal some of the wealthy, even a few Jewish priests.  And even thought they speculated who he was, they knew that he was no ordinary Nazarean, they couldn’t dare to think that this man coluld be the one that they were waiting for, to liberate them from the Romans.

Jesus sighed, thinking of the one who brought sickness, sin, dis-ease, and death into the world…. the one who rebelled in heaven and after being thrown out, poisioned man’s spirit, with his spirit of rebellion.

Jesus then thought of the pharisees and seducees, and knew the battle that would begin in three years time, as soon as he announced that the kingdom of God is at hand.  Oh, he would have his hands full with the ordinarily religious folks who couldn’t accept him, because their hearts were far from his father.  He felt sorry for most of them who were so imprision by the authorities, whose tradition had their minds obeying thousands of useless laws and regulations, not realizing the Truth that came to set them free from their sins.

He then spoke to his father,  "Father, you think that I’ll be prepared for my mission in three years times?"

"Son, as you know, your mother is the wisest woman, or the wisest person for that matter, that we have ever created and she thinks that you could use an assistant, a helper."

"You mean Mary Magdalene, huh dad,"  Jesus mused?

"Why not, Son?"

"Why not, son?  Is that the best kind of wisdom that you can offer me, now?"

"Yes, as we know: Mary’s perfect for you."

"Father, I hear that same playful tone in your voice that my mother has, when she’s trying to instigate some kind of romantic activity in my life."

"Son, what’s the matter with a little bit of romance?"

"Because that wasn’t part of the plan that we discuss at the beginning of time."

"That doesn’t mean that it wasn’t in my will at the beginning."

"Father, are you saying that at the beginning of time that you envisioned me and Mary together, and kept that from me?"

"Son, do you think that you could have understood the complexity of the human condition, before actually experiencing it?"

"I see your wisdom, father."

"Son, just take one day at a time. And if you need any help, just call me.  I’ll always available."

"Thanks, dad.  I love you."

"How I love you son!"

A nice addition to the story to have Jesus’s father give him encouraging words and wisdom in the department of romance. In 3 years time he will be prepared for his mission. So its nice that Jesus and Mary will enjoy life in the meantime.

Another of your entry that gives me smile. The Father could have said, “oh, no, son…you cannot associate yourself with any woman less you get into a temptation that will interfere with your mission”. But Father being God…He knows His Son very well and so He doesn’t have to worry about such thing. Not like us parents. Smiles.

Thanks so much for this entry, Bri! It helps me to understand the Love Of God for His Son, Jesus, and His Father God’s wisdom in explaining that Jesus wouldn’t have the ability to understand “the complexity of the human condition before actually experiencing it.” Wonderfully put, Bri! Love, Liz
