Work and WhippedSilk’s Yummy Recipe :-)

Well, it was back to work today. I was actually sort of anxious to get back. I had been administering this rather large and complicated estate and wanted to see what had gone on while I was away. I didn’t want anybody else to do anything with it because I had it all organized just the way I wanted it. I spent most of my day taking care of updating that as well as doing a few other things.

We were originally going to have our Christmas lunch today but the other assistant was sick so we rescheduled it for Tuesday the 28th. I got my present and bonus from my boss, however, a $25 gift certificate to a local restaurant chain and a $200 check – whoo hoo!! He’s the greatest!! Unfortunately, I had car problems on the way home and it looks like I’m going to need a new alternator which will probably cost me between $200 and $300, so goodbye Christmas bonus  That figures. Oh well, better than if I DIDN’T have a bonus, right?

I made chicken soup for dinner but I didn’t like the way it turned out. I also made those pretzel, kiss, m&m things that WhippedSilk gave us the recipe to. They turned out great and very yummy too. I’m going to pack them nicely with some shortbread to give my son-in-law’s parents as a little hostess gift on Christmas. Thank you, WhippedSilk!

I spent a lot of the evening chatting with my brother who is having a hard time with the holidays. The balance of the evening was spent typing up a lot of the entries about my trip so I wouldn’t forget it all. I sure loved Key West. I’m usually not a fan of Florida but now I’ve found two places I liked… the Everglades and Key West. The Everglades was a wonderful place to visit and a great experience to have, but Key West bears more exploration. I want to go BACK there – definitely. I would love to spend a month there, just living and getting to know the locals… maybe even writing. One never knows what the future holds.
