What Will Happen If You Think???

Well, I got to spend less time at work today (because I did sooo much yesterday).  Was up at 3:40am… In to Sbux by 4:45am, got a nice early start.  The place wasn’t so bad this AM so I told the opening shift supervisor that we should leave a NICE note for a change (which she let me do).

The shift ran beautifully and we got a lot done.  I noted on the schedule that the manager gave me 25 hours next week which is great because I wanted at least 20 to make sure I get the insurance.  I had opened up my availability and she was accommodating. I’m working 5 days… opening all 5, which I really love… a perfect schedule.  I figure I’ll work super-long on Monday and Tuesday, then I’ll just have Sbux on Weds. (5-11) and Thursday (5-9:30) and then work long on Friday again.  It’s do-able.

My goal is to work at least 20 hours/week at Sbux and 15 hours/week at the law office.  I don’t think that’s at all unrealistic since that totals less than a full time job.  I had no trouble working 13 hours yesterday.  I do well at sprinting then stopping and resting.

Tonight is a Radio Banquet for my son’s school’s radio station.  Since he was a Saturday DJ as well as very active in radio class, we’ll be there to see him get his award(s).  I’m very much looking forward to it.  We went last year and had a lot of fun (plus the food is good ) 

24 was great last night but that blond girl… what’s her name? Oh yeah, Audrey, she annoys me.  Also, I knew Tony Almeda was in for trouble.  LOL I told my husband when Michelle said she couldn’t live another day without him, I told my husband, “Well, HE’S a goner,” especially when he turned around and gave Michelle that smile before he left… we all groaned.  (BTW – You may remember, Carlos Bernard AKA Tony Almeda was the winner of my beauty contest not too long ago.  It’s gonna be tough to see him die – maybe they’ll relent.)

Three of my other favorite shows have zipped up for the season… Veronica Mars, Amazing Race, and Survivor.  I think I already mentioned these but in case you missed it… check out Veronica Mars… this is a smart and contemporary show!  Amazing Race is a little tedious but it had Rob and “Ambuh” so I had to watch   And, of course, Survivor… I’m a sucker.  I’m glad Tom won.  Of COURSE Tom won, who else?

Now I’m just waiting for the 24 finale (2 hours on Monday the 23rd… yeah!! – Hey, anybody else out there wondering what happened to Behruz???) and LOST… what a great show!!  I’m going to have to get back into Desperate Housewives over the summer because it fell by the wayside with all the other stuff I was watching.  I did enjoy it for awhile, though, when I got hooked.

Enough TV talk, though… one would think I was an addict (which I very likely am).  I’ve been really bad this season.  I can say with pride, however, that American Idol just left me cold… I’m sick of it I guess and had no interest in bothering with it.  (The girl is all grown up now 

Yes, I sound cheerful and maybe I’m not going to have a nervous breakdown after all… the trick is to stay busy busy busy and do NOT think… whatever you do, do NOT think.  You can read, you can go on the computer, you can fuss with this and with that, clean house, sleep… focus on TV shows, make your mind blank because, if you think — well, who knows what will come up?
