What Can You Do? Something…

Well, I donated $50 to the Lutheran World Relief Fund. It doesn’t sound like very much, I know, but it IS something at least. I’ve also prayed. I will probably donate more as soon as I’ve paid our mortgage. I don’t feel comfortable just looking at the pictures and feeling horrified sympathy for these people is enough. After paying $404.00 for a new alternator for my stupid car, $50 was pretty tight, but then again, I did get my nails done so how can I really complain. I figure $50 is me going without Starbucks for a month or whatever. There are places I can cut back to make up for that $50. Half of the alternator was made up for by my Christmas bonus from work and I got some Christmas money from my Mom which helped so we’re okay. (I charged it anyway so the bonus is sitting in our account waiting to be paid to the everlovin’ credit card company. I charged the donation too, so it’ll all be paid off in the end.) But how can I look at all that without doing SOMETHING? I will do more, but I won’t charge it. Just gotta make sure the first of the month bills are covered, then even if it’s $10 or $20, I’ll pass it on. I know it won’t make up for someone’s child dying, but if it can help keep someone else’s kid alive, that’s more important than my latte.
