Day 23 – your best friend

That, of course, would be my beloved and so-dear husband!

Dear Brian,

It’s silly to be writing this letter because you know everything I’m going to say anyway.  But, I guess it all bears repeating — how much I love you and how much I LIKE you.  You are my best friend.

You are so much fun.  You have a great sense of humor and know how to make me laugh.  You don’t let little things worry you like I do and you don’t let things make you feel like it’s the end of the world the way I do.  You put my fears at rest and sooth my anxieties.  You’re fun to be with.  You have wonderful warm hugs that make me feel calm and safe.  You are indulgent and you put up with me and even love me, which always amazes me.

I love the way you spoil me and how you are so kind and considerate to me.  I love how you seem to see the best in me and how you forgive me and how I can feel safe just being myself with you.  

My heart still beats a little faster when I know we’re going to be together – like for lunch or at the end of the day.  A smile still comes to my lips when I hear your footsteps or think about you.  I still chuckle when I hear you singing in the kitchen or talking to the animals.

I love the kind of grandparent you are.  I love to see the girls so excited when you show up.  Of course they adore you! Everybody does!  Your friends love you.  Your family loves you.  The local kids love you.  But only I get to have you all the time, 24/7, every night, as my own special person and very best friend in the world.  I feel so blessed and lucky to be your wife.  Your the best thing God has ever done for me besides save me!
