Still Thinking About Tsunamis…
I’m still reeling from the unbelievable consequences of this recent earthquake and the tsunamis it spawned. My friends in Thailand are okay. They were on a boat when it happened! Can you believe it? What a place to be. I’m sure they will have much to tell when they return. The more I read and the more pictures I see, the more horrified I become. I donated some relief money. I had to pay $404 for a new alternater for my car today, so that sort of cramped my style, but I donated $50. I hope that helps somehow. Maybe I’ll be able to do more later. It’s hard to sit here in such comfort knowing that people over there don’t even have fresh water to drink and are sobbing over their dead children. One Indian woman lost all 11 of her children. Your life would just be over if that happened.
On a different note, my boss took the other assistant and myself out for a holiday lunch today. He was totally charming, even offering to buy us drinks, appetizers and desserts (all three of which we declined). It was fun and I, for one, couldn’t have enjoyed it more. I am so lucky to be working there. He’s so different than the first time I worked for him… it’s like the three spirits visited him at some point during the year I was gone and completely changed him. He used to be so self-centered and sort of jerky, now he’s always so thoughtful and courteous. I feel very blessed.
So I had this great lunch and now I sit here in the relative comfort of my nice little condo with my safe and sound family and I feel almost guilty because I know that millions of people are in terrible grief tonight. I just pray that God will send them some sort of peace. I feel that we must be in the final days now. So much is happening that is predicted in the Bible as being the foretelling of the end times. I welcome the return of Jesus. This world is so troubling and there is so much sadness.
hi Eryssa, Yes, it is horrible. I don’t know if it is really the end of the world but I really want to help only. Thanks to all who help in this event. Let’s pray together. Winnie
