My Brother got his ears pierced…
Okay… they had a court date today. The $$ decisions got postponed ’til 10/31 which really sucks because my poor sister-in-law is basically supporting the kids and living off her parents now. I’m so furious with him. My sister in law (or ex-sister-in-law I should say) told me that my brother came in with his ears pierced. Apparently he has some sort of gray slim-shady cut and a little beard. I didn’t realize until tonight, too, that his new wife also has her nose pierced.
It’s not that I’m against all this stuff. My daughter had her nose pierced for a time (which I thought was pretty ugly because she’s so fair and I prefer nose piercing on darker skin, but that’s just me). Also, the son-in-law that I adore has ear piercings (so does Harrison Ford). It’s just that when you have a brother who is a cocaine addict and has deserted his family and has turned into a complete a**hole to everybody around him, the ear piercings are just the capper.
He’s gone through that entire $100,000 (which turned out to be $115,000) that he borrowed against the house when he shouldn’t have. My sister-in-law covered it with the proceeds of selling the house, but she still can’t get any money because everything’s on hold until the judge makes a ruling.
I know that it’s not really true, but it just seems sometimes like the courts always end up favoring the man (unless it’s like a celebrity or something, but even then look at Joan Lunden, Joan Collins, and Goldie Hawn who all got screwed over by men). I have a friend whose husband was a cross-dresser and sex addict. He cross-dressed and had a girlfriend who I guess participated in all of that. My friend couldn’t handle it so she sued for divorce. During the divorce time he gave her no support. The water stopped working in her house, her car got repossessed, he broke in one day when she was out and stole all the furniture. All this was going on when she had a little baby, not older than a year or so. Plus she lived out in the rural suburbs so there was no public transportation for her. He never did get in much trouble in court and she ended up giving in to so many of his demands, etc. just to get it over with.
My ex-husband stopped sending child support so long ago I can’t even remember when. My current husband raised these girls in every way. Their biological father didn’t call or send cards or anything. No court ever forced him to pay, even though the states are supposed to help women with this. He didn’t get in any trouble for kidnapping the girls or lying to them about where I was.
My brother has treated my ex-sister-in-law in ways that no human being should never be treated (see my “Reprobate Mind” entries) and yet he is STILL not called on the carpet. This even includes his credit card fraud on her accounts as recently as a couple of weeks ago.
This sucks so much I can hardly stand it! And then men wonder why we’re all so cynical and bitter. If it weren’t for my husband I don’t think I’d ever believe in another man. He feels the stress sometimes saying, “I feel like I have to represent all men here,” but he does his best. He too, though, gets upset with some of the behavior he sees… even worse than me.
We stumbled over a diary of a 38 year old man who is seeing a 15 year old girl and my husband was totally disgusted. I think this comes from him raising my girls with me. He knows just how vulnerable they are and how unprepared they are for an adult relationship. I tend to be a bit more open-minded about it because I was such a miserable teenager, if I had had a 38 year old man nurturing me at that age, even if it involved sex, I think my life would have been more palatable. But, then again, who knows.
My husband and I also argue over the Mary Kay LeTourneau thing all the time. I really believed they were in love all the time, but now I have my doubts and think that maybe Mary Kay actually does need some serious mental help. In the beginning it was easier to believe it was love, but by the time she got pregnant yet AGAIN, I thought she was an idiot.
The world is so confusing, so maddening and I’m so upset with what my sister-in-law (ex) is going through. I just wonder if this will ever end. I am ashamed to be a sister to the man she was married to and wish I could cut his blood out of my veins.

My cousin is 16 and has a 28 year old boyfriend I think it is sick personally. But it’s her choice. I hope things get better for your sister-in-law!

This story alone makes you NOT want to get involved with drugs, doesn’t it? How awful for you and your family…especially for you, with your past experiences.

Keep the “sister-in-law” dump the brother. That is waht my family did when my uncle left his wife. We liked her better anyway.
