Good to be back!!

Good Grief I missed my OD friends while I was in Florida!! The
retirement village was VERY quiet but, happily, my mom is in great
shape (for an almost 83 year old woman with Parkinson’s disease). My
birthday was uneventful. She didn’t even remember it was my birthday
until I reminded her but the rest of the family called to wish me well
and that was nice. I got a whole lot of writing done and that was the
most completely delightful part of my entire visit. I ended up reading
my Muffet diary manuscript to my mom from start to finish and she loved
it. It is actually not finished but it is as long as any of my
published books of erotica ever were and it is coming along. I wrote
lots while I was there and I spent so much time wrapped in this world
of this man, this dad that I’m dreaming up, that it was like it was
really happening or HAD really happened. From time to time I almost got
scared because I felt like I was being swallowed up into this alternate
reality.

I mean YOU try sitting up in a retirement village with Diagnosis
Murder and Lawrence Welk playing on the TV. Eating dinner at 5pm and
playing cards as the high point of the day versus spending hours
writing about the most wonderful man (father-wise – don’t get insulted,
honey – that was directed to my husband in case he’s reading this) that
ever existed (or actually, he doesn’t exist anywhere except in my
imagination) and tell me what begins to seem more real to YOU… Mr. Welk
or this wonderful Dad.

And then, when I tried to dial in on that stupid Earthlink
connection, it so totally sucked. I wanted to back up what I had
written because I was afraid something might happen to my computer or
my files or that my plane might crash, but the connection was so bad it
kept flaking out on me. I couldn’t even come in to OD and read you guys
or anything. UGH. I put a few things in to the Muffet diary, but kept
them on private because I had changed my fictional brother’s names and
had to go back and change the previous entries to match before I opened
up the private entries and made them public (oh, the tangled webs we
weave.)

Anyway, I’m glad to be back now. I had wonderful presents waiting
for me here when I got home and my great family. I have now caught up
with all my OD favorites (no small task, that… because I have so MANY!)
Ahhh.. it’s good to be alive!

I also even did a survey that I found in Amen-Ra’s diary. I don’t
usually do surveys, but for some reason this one took my fancy.

1) Grab the book nearest
to you, turn to page 18, find line 4. Write down what it says: “…in the
pigpen. The Savior wants them to find the way back to…” (and the next
line says, “the Father’s house.”
2) Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first? My cat, Mystti

3)
What is the last thing you watched on TV? Veronica Mars (my husband
taped it for me while I was in Florida. Before that we watched the last
episode of 24. He taped that for me too… DANG, it was SO
SUSPENSEFUL!!!)
4) WITHOUT LOOKING, guess what the time is: 4pm?

5) Now look at the clock, what is the actual time? 4:26pm (not bad!)

6) With the exception of the computer, what can you hear? My dumb dog snoring 😉 She’s so cute!

7) When did you last step outside? About ½ hour ago

7b)
What were you doing? Went to deposit a check in the bank then to
Walgreen’s where I bought some clear nail polish, a hair brush and
other on sale hair stuff and, I’m sorry to say, a Hershey’s w/almonds
candy bar that I consumed almost instantly 
8) Before you came to this website, what did you look at? My email
9) What are you wearing? Some black Capri length leggings and a striped button down over shirt
10) Did you dream last night? Not really, but I slept very fitfully.
11)
When did you last laugh? I haven’t had a really good guffaw for awhile.
I’ve chuckled at a few things, the animals, a joke here and there but I
need a good laugh.
12)
What is on the walls of the room you are in? Sand paint, a border
around the ceiling and a poster with all the names for Jesus.
13)
Seen anything weird lately? Criminy, I was in the Ft. Lauderdale
airport today, of COURSE I saw weird things… mostly people.
13b)what was it? A man who looked too young to have a walker was using a walker… a weird family… strange people… my own face.
14) Last movie you saw? I don’t remember… I’m sure it’s in my diary someplace
15) If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first? A house for my daughter (Hopeful1)
16)
Tell me something about you that I don’t know: Good grief… you guys
read my diary… you know EVERYTHING about me! Let me think… I used to
play acoustic guitar and write songs. They weren’t very good songs. I
was a Joni Mitchell wannabe.
17)
If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or
politics, what would you do? I would change it so that people would
instinctively and naturally be lead to always look out and care for one
another… so that there natural inclination would be towards obsessively
working for others’ best interests and so that humans would never have
anything to fear from other humans. We’d have no more sexual predators,
no more wars, no more fights. People, instead, would be constantly
stepping aside for others, offering the best to others first, and
sharing with others. That’s what I would change. If that were the way
the world worked, we could more easily overcome the natural challenges
we have with sickness and natural disaster.
18) Do you like to dance? Yes, but I’m horrible at it.
19)
George Bush: I have a very difficult time mustering up my Christian
spirit when I think of this man who uses the name of Christianity to
foster a platform that breeds greed, lies, destruction and little
spiritual fruit. I detest him more and more with every decision he
foists off on us and anything positive that I thought might be gained
by this administration (which I energetically opposed) is totally
crushed by what I’ve seen transpire over the months since he was
re-elected.
20) Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her? I did name her Angelique Elizabeth 😉
21) Same question for a boy: I would have named her either Benjamin James or Zachariah had she been a boy.
