And Life Goes On

I’m still fighting a cold and felt pretty bad during the day today.  I slept a lot but it was very fitfull.  I was listening to the religious talk station that I like which was nice, but it made for some weird dreams.  When Charles Stanley was preaching, I was dreaming that I was in a college class and this guy was lecturing. I was thinking, “Wow! This guy is really good.”  When the class ended, he just kept talking while all the students left.  I was the only one still sitting there listening.  I sort of woke up and realized it was the radio then faded back into sleep with Charles Stanley still going while I was dreaming that I was having dinner at a friend’s house and that this same guy was talking at dinner.  I tried to ask him a question but he wouldn’t shut-up and answer it and he just kept talking and talking away.  Even though it was great stuff, I was thinking that I wished he’d shut-up and answer questions or just not talk so much.  Again, I sort of woke up and realized that in my dream I was trying to converse with the radio.

Later in the afternoon I picked up prescriptions, did grocery shopping then picked up my son at school.  I made lunches for the week, made chicken soup from scratch, then picked up my husband.  We got to go out to dinner tonight because I was doing a mystery shop.  It was pretty cool and a nearly free dinner.  We had lots left to bring home.

So, that was my day… not very exciting but, so what.  Oh yeah, I also booked my daughter and I on a flight to Florida in August to see my mom.  We’re going to go to DC too in June, but I haven’t booked that yet.  We’re going to take Amtrak but I’ve got to explore fares more.  I think I can get it cheaper.

The surprise news of the day was that Walter Jacobson got arrested for drunk driving.  I would have never pegged him like that.  They said he was staggering out of a restaurant and an officer told him not to get into his car.  Apparently he got in, drove, and ran a stop-sign.  Very not good for a news anchorman, especially with his reputation.  This is not going to bode well for him.

I haven’t heard from my daughter today but I assume she’s okay.  She worked both jobs and then had school tonight.  We’re going to get together tomorrow after work and we also have Bible study tomorrow night so I’ll see how she’s doing then.  She and her husband were over here last night for the Survivor finale.  That was great!! We really enjoyed it and my brother and my mom called us part way through to talk about Rob and Amber’s engagement.  It would be great if CBS would do a thing with Rob and Amber like whatever station it was did for that Ryan and Trista couple from the Bachelorette.  I didn’t really watch that, but my daughter did.  Reality shows are our guilty pleasure.  I just can stand some of the non-reality shows.  I know people really like CSI, but it’s way too grizzley for me.  I don’t like shows about murder.  There’s too much murder in real life, I don’t need fiction murder too.

Oh well, enough for today.

I love trains. Spent part of the day at the DC Union station while I was out walking. Lurking at the train station can be fun. Ha Ha Ha.
