Adoption…
Just a quick entry because a few of you have mentioned adoption.
My daughter is not at all adverse to adoption. She just doesn’t
have the money to do it. If the insurance company would offer the
money to adopt instead of do the IUI or IVF treatments, she would take
it because adoption would yield a baby for sure as opposed to this
constant discouragement, but insurance companies can’t/don’t do
that. Some of the companies her husband has worked for have
offered some financial help toward adoption but not enough to make it
feasible. At this point I think she is probably looking toward
trying the next few IVFs that will be covered by insurance and, if
those don’t work (she’s not holding out a lot of hope) then she and her
husband will just work and stow away as much money as possible for
several years until they have saved enough to try to adopt. She
would like to be able to raise her child from infancy and that makes it
expensive, even if you adopt from overseas.
Who knows where it’ll go from here.
My other daughter has not had any success getting pregnant with a
second child so she is looking into adopting a child between the ages
of 2 years – 6 years. If you adopt a child that age, the
state will provide the funds, she says. We’ll see what happens
with that.
It’s all a little overwhelming right now and none are my decisions to
make. I support whatever decisions THEY make, but neither
daughter is adverse to adoption in any way, just financially challenged.
just curious. how old is the youngest daughter?

It’s so crazy how the whole adoption process is so difficult and there’s so many wonderful potential parents out there who can’t get a child and then at the same time there are ungrateful stupid people who keep getting abortions or doing other stupid stuff to prevent a perfectly good God given life, it’s so sad. Tell your daughters I said good luck and I will continue to pray.

You can adopt through the state and get an infant as well. It takes longer to be placed with a child that way, but if your daughter would like to go through the homestudies and be placed on the list, perhaps the call will come by the time she’s really ready to throw in the towel with TTC. I’m fairly sure that the rules for state adoption are almost the same everywhere.

Hopefully, she will not have to give up having one of her own – what I said about “throwing in the towel” completely came out the wrong way. In fact, she could end up pregnant and then be placed with an adoptive child soon after! I know a woman from my support group who had two miscarriages and then started to adopt, because at the age of 40, her doctor had no hope for her having one of her own.

As soon as the adoption process really got underway, she unexpectedly got pregnant and is now more than halfway to having her precious baby boy!

its so stupid….. why does it have to cost so much? RYN – Thank You for your kind notes. He Remembered!!!!!!!

Like you said, I am not at all opposed to adoption. I think it is a beautiful thing. I think it is in our future no matter what. I wish I could have adoption covered by insurance, that would be nice. Right now I am not done with my battle of conception. One day I believe I will be a mother to a living child on this earth , and all my dreams will finally come true (adopted or natural).

Don’t give up…we’re praying for you!

Yeah, I think that blows, I looked into it, and not only is it expensive, but for a single mother *which I would be* it is damn near impossible to adopt, and a lot of places won’t let a single woman adopt a chid, unless she is age 35 or older. I can’t wait that long. I’d have better luck adopted a rabid rat from the humane society. *sigh*
