A Fun Little Exercise

One of my favorites did this fun little exercise in her diary. I thought I’d try it too. You put each letter of the alphabet into the address section at the top of your browser and see what comes up. Cut and paste that link into your diary. This tells the world more about you than you might ever say in one entry!! I didn’t use the first thing that came up when it showed my old ISP, my new ISP my bank or anything personal like that, but otherwise I did. It was really fun too, like taking a trip down memory lane. LOL I hope you enjoy it!

A- http://www.aboardcertifiedplasticsurgeonresource.com/facelift/instant.html – Instant Face Lift – one can wish, can’t one?

B – http://www.breadinfo.com – I’ve been on a bread making kick and this has some recipes, links, and other info. I ended up buying a bread making machine after reading the specs here as well as elsewhere.

C – http://www.cruel.com – This is an odd site that I check out now and then, it has links to bizarre other sites that are well… cruel in some way or weird. I found the “Bad Neighbors Make Bad Fences” link really interesting.

D – http://dailynews.att.net/cgi-bin/news?e=pri&dt=041109&cat=news&st=news71627&src=webmd – An article about how our anxiety level rises as the threat of war increases… mildly interesting

E – http://www.ebaumsworld.com – A fun site that my son really loves. I’ve only actually been there once – to see the clip of Ashley Simpson on Saturday Night Live – but I couldn’t download the movie so I haven’t been back.

F – http://www.fitday.com – This is the most awesome site if you’re trying to lose weight. It is free of charge and doesn’t have any pop up ads or any of that garbage. You can track all your food and fitness here. It is totally marvelous!

G – http://www.google.com/search?q=jude%20law – A google search for pics of Jude Law, one of my favorite actors. I loved him in Cold Mountain and wanted a picture. (How embarrassing, I feel like a 17 year old.)

H – http://www.hotmail.com – I have a hotmail account that I use when I sign up for special offers and stuff so that I can avoid getting bunches of spam in my “real” email.

I – http://www.imdb.com – This is the Internet Movie Database and it’s a wonderful site about movies. It has trivia and information on any movie you can think of, also lists of all the movies various performers have ever made, etc. Readers contribute reviews as do professionals. It’s a terrific resource!

J – nothing

K – http://www.kate-winslet-website.co.uk/kate/4.jpg – Kate Winslet is my favorite actress. I went looking for pictures of her and this is one.

L – http://www.livejournal.com/users/siamang/43717.html – This is a page I happened across via the Cruel Site of the day site.

M – http://www.marfan.org/nmf/GetContentRequestHandler.do?menu_item_id=2 – This is a site that is all about Marfan disease. I ended up there when I was doing research about bicuspid heart valves.

N – http://nytimesweddings.blogspot.com/ – This is a dour but amusing site that I found from Cruel Site of the Day.

O – http://www.opendiary.com/ – Here, of course.

P – http://www.picasa.com/picasa/ – This is some software my husband thought might be a good idea for me to look at.

Q – http://www.qis.net/~champion/bread/main.html – More bread recipes.

R – http://www.recipesource.com/baked-goods/breads/machine/ – And even more bread recipes.

S – http://www.snopes.com/ – The original urban legends site, this is invaluable. Go here whenever you get one of those chain emails… like the one that said the government would have to pay for the Secret Service to guard all of John Kerry’s out of the country properties. This site investigates all of those urban legends and lets you know what’s true, false, a mixture, and what the origins of those emails are.

T – http://www.thesmokinggun.com/ – These guys have the scoop. They post the legal documents for things like Michael Jackson’s sexual abuse case, also have a gallery of celebrity mug shots that are quite interesting. Some time ago I was appalled to read the documents from Kirstie Allie and Parker Stevenson’s divorce. Take a look in the archives and see if you can find them there.

U – http://www.usa.att.com/callvantage/index.jsp?soac=64528 – I’m looking into switching my local service… this is what AT&T has to offer.

V – http://www.variety.com/graphics/photos/storypics/mountain_globes.jpg – Another picture of Jude Law from Cold Mountain – *sigh* Somehow he doesn’t really “ring my bells” in any other movie, but I love him in that one!

W – http://www.writersweekly.com/whispers_and_warnings/002199_11172004.html – Writers Weekly is a great little email newsletter and it has a column called whispers and warnings where writers post notices to other writers on publishers to beware of. Believe it or not, publications rampantly cheat writers out of checks, rights, and much more. It’s good to share these stories so that they aren’t so easily able to take advantage of us.

X – http://www.xpn.org/Top50_2004.php – This is a place to vote for your top album pics for 2004. This was from my husband. I couldn’t even think of enough to fill all their slots.

Y – nothing

Z – nothing

Well, THAT was really fun!

whew! I was actually anxious that you might have a z when I’m pretty sure I don’t. Who has z’s? Zebra specialists? Wait! I do have a z but I’m sure I didn’t type it in since it’s a zd ad server site.
