What A Day

Went to the Dr.’s today for my regular every 6 week labs and Dr. H wanted to see me about some things. I also had some questions to ask as well. It started off not so good as he had a NEW person up front, the usual girl had moved to the phones. Usually I get back to the room atleast by my appointment time, and they have a sign up that if 20 minutes past your appointment see the receptionist. Well 40 minutes later they call to get my co-pay and sign my paper to verify all is the same. All this time other people that have signed in for my Dr. (there are 4 docs in office with different sign in windows) already go back. I sigh and TRY to be patient eventually 50 minutes later I go back to the room. She gets the list of my zillion meds and then take my vitals. Well my B/P is way to high per him 156/102 (I am on 2 different kinds of B/P meds), and my heart rate is skipping all over the place and is 124. I have inappropriate sinus tachycardia. Then the Dr. comes in and rechecks my B/P and it is still elevated more than he wants. We talk a little bit and he changes one of the 5 cholesterol/ statin meds and takes me off of another, refills my Midrin. We continue to talk about the chest pains I have been having for 3 weeks or so and how they feel. He listens to my heart (which is still tachy) and beating at 168 now. I do not have white coat syndrome I have been going to him since before my youngest was little. We talk about a couple of women that have passed recently that he knows from the office and tells me he is scheduling a medicine induced stress test. [I can not walk the tread mill because of my leg circulation]. My legs as he knows are back the way they were before the bi-femoral aorta bypass. He stated I would either hear from him or Dr. L (my cardiologist) after he talks to him. He stated that Dr. L might want to just go in and do another heart cath. I told Dr. H that every time they go into my arteries they get angry and form scar tissue and block them off. I told him I feel that maybe that is what has happened with my heart arteries/aorta leading to my heart since they have messed with that so much. He stated that that might be what has happened but I can’t ignore the symptoms any longer and also wrote me a script for nitroglycerin. He told me to take them and not just wait and if it relieved it with the first one good, but if not I could take another sub-lingual after 5 minutes then another in 5 more minutes if not subsided after 2 call 911. So he hugged me and told me go to the lab and he would finish up what he needed and talk to me again in a few. So I did all that and he talked to me after that and handed me a paper he had copied for me and told me he would call. So I am awaiting the call…..

Hugsssssss to all I will try to get caught up on my faves tonight but if I don’t get them all read I will tomorrow I am EXHAUSTED.
