Birth of a New Teen

For any of you out there on the World Wide Web that didn’t know, today is my little brother’s birthday! James has turned 13!

I woke up about 7, which is unusual for me on a Saturday morning. I got on the computer and fooled around a bit, waiting for mom to cook breakfast. We had pancakes and wonderful maple syrup.

Afterwards, we headed down to the cinema and saw ‘Up’ for the second time. Only this time in 3D. I love that movie!!! It was my mom’s first time to see it and she thought it was the cutest thing she’d ever seen.

When we arrived at home, mom made us pizza and a 2 layer chocolate cake with oreo icing between the layers. Hands down, THE best cake I’ve ever had in my entire life!

We hung out for a while longer then went to the mall to get James’ gift. In Australia, however, the malls close around 5-ish and James isn’t going to get his game until tomorrow. He’s a little miffed about it but he’ll be fine.

The family is watching ‘The Incredibles’ right now (yeah, we love Pixar), but I felt the need to type and entry. I also feel the need to express a few of my worries.

For those who don’t know, I turn Sweet 16 on October 27. But I have no close friends here to actually celebrate with me. I’m really upset about this concept. I expected my best friends to be there with me, like every girl teen’s dream, I guess. I’m just kinda bummed about it.

Something has been troubling me even more: Justin hasn’t been on Facebook for the past 2 days and I’m getting worried. I know he’s almost 17 and he can take care of himself, it’s just… I like to at least hear from him. I keep getting the feeling he either doesn’t want to talk to me or he wants to tell me something but he’s scared to. I really hope neither of those is the reason.

He’s prolly just busy. I worry too much.
