“A Thousand Miles”

I’m listening to the coolest song ever written: "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton. If you don’t know it, look it up on You-Tube.

It’s been one of those "I feel great and nothing’s going to change that" days. Mj and Stan came over yesterday to sleepover. We watched Surf’s Up, which I’d recommend to anyone. We also played Super Smash Bros. Melee for GameCube and I conquered using Kirby. I taught them that no one ever expects the cute, short one to be devious. But, of course, I can be.

I’ve had a huge surge of creativity and haven’t been able to put down my pen since. Some are angsty, some are creepy, and others are happy. Here’s an excerpt from my short story, Soaring Home:

‘The plane roared as I tried to sleep. Like the night before, I tossed and turned. My earphones played soft music in the darkness. I listened to the lyrics, comparing them to how I’d listened to them 2 years ago. No comparison. Back then, I’d been upset, angry at being pulled out of my perfect world and thrown into another.

Now was different.

I was going back to the familiar town of Magnolia. I was flying back into the arms of friends for the first time in too long. I was soaring home.’

Please tell me what you think!!!

Thnx!
