pain, with a side of pain

Well, went and had that damned tooth "extracted" today.

Was not fun in the least little bit.

5 shots of Novacaine (or whatever they are using these days), and I still felt it ripping out of me.

It took the dentist an hour more than he thought it would, because my roots were long, and they had calcified to my bones.

He had to section the tooth and the roots just to get them out.

And he had to cut to get access to my roots, so I now have stitches where my tooth used to be.

It went from dental procedure to surgical procedure.

Dentist sent me home with prescription of pain killers – they haven’t helped at all so far. The novacaine is just starting to wear off, and I am REALLY feeling it now. It’s enough to make me cry. (Did I tell you all that I was a baby about anything in my mouth – especially my teeth.)

I will NEVER have that done again. NEVER.

Just took a pain pill and am going to try and go to sleep.

ouch 🙁 what type of pain meds did they give you? My pain medicine does nothing for me most of the time.. it’s frustrating.

I know this sounds totally lame, but I promise it works for most people. Take two extra strength tylenol and two advil. There are some people that say it works better than any narcotic. (I personally use an ice pack, I freeze half my face so its numb for a long time:O) Hope you feel better soon!

I hope you are nearly recovered by now. Ryn: SOP is Standard Operating Procedure.

This was the last thing I should have read this morning; I have my own dentist’s appointment this morning, and I’m TERRIFIED!
