dirty angel
I know that the title sounds weird, but it’s the first thing my eye fell on when I was looking at the top shelf of my computer desk. Incidentally, it IS a dirty angel. My grandmother made it for me years and years ago, crocheted white cotten, but the years have put the grime on her, and I HAD lost her halo a few years ago, but luckily I found it a few days ago. Ahem. If you can make any sense of this paragraph, you earned a pass to go on.
I had to go and see the p-doc tonight. I usually bring my medicine bottles with me when I have an appointment, but I forgot the last time…..which resulted in my Ambien not having ANY refills left. So, tonight I went to Dover to see him (all of 10 minutes), and he wrote the prescription. He also commented that I wasn’t in as good a mood as I was last Wednesday, and if it didn’t get better soon, to give him a call.
Yes, I have been down the past few days. I haven’t been able to bring myself to write a substantial entry.
While I was in the drugstore getting my script filled, C and I walked around and found 24-pack of water on sale 2.99 (2.69 if you have a Rite Rewards card), Arizona Sweet Tea on sale, and some candy that we wanted on sale.
While I was standing at the counter paying, hubby called on my cell (isn’t that always the way?) and asked if I would pick up something for supper – he was on his way to Bangor to pick up A who had stayed the weekend with his grandfather), so I told him that I would stop at Shop ‘n Save and pick something up.
C and I debated on whether to get the stuff for a sausage/spinach loaf, or frozen pizza. I picked up all the ingredients for a caesar salad (even remembered the parmesan cheese this time), and C & I finally decided on frozen pizza. Being’s this is a little chain of the store, they had a really crappy selection, so, we did NOT get pizza.
I couldn’t find sausage in the store, and didn’t really feel like engaging someone to help me find it, so we settled on Lasagna, Garlic Bread, and the caesar salad. (Which, by the way, the croutons were big time stale. Yuck.)
On the way TO Dover, there was a little chipmunk in the road, trying to decide which way he wanted to go, and I tried to beep my horn at him (why I DON’T have a horn is a story for another time) I heard a tha-wump, felt a little bump, and looked in my rearview mirror to see that I had run him over – wanted to bawl – but then I got angry at myself instead. Poor little thing – I have committed murder on Alvin the Chipmunk.
So, I am now getting ready to pack it in for the night. I have taken my night meds, and put brown sugar body cream on, and I am just waiting for A to finish the dishes. (It always takes him over 2 hours to finish them, especially when he is stumbling around like I’ve been working him like a slave today – yeah, right. He was at his grandfather’s all day.)
I have to go to bed, because I have to get up early tomorrow because I have an appointment with R in the morning, as he will not be in the office on Friday, which is the day that I usually have my appointments.
I have to remember to take the dollhouse that I built to R’s office. He works with children a lot, and I have no use for it, so I asked him if he wanted it. Bet you anything, when I write my entry tomorrow, I will have FORGOTTEN it.
Yeah, I built a dollhouse. I also collect Barbie’s, got something to say about it? (Hubby got me Scarlett O’hara Barbie for our anniversary – she’s beautiful.) I also got Bella and Edward from Twilight, Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady, 2008 Christmas Barbie, 2009 Christmas Barbie, a Holiday Barbie from 2000, and assorted Christmas, Easter and regular Barbie’s. Takes up 2 whole shelves in my office.
Then, on the other shelf, there are a few more Barbies, a cabbage patch, a Blythe Doll, and a porcelain doll that I got at the antique shop down town.
The top shelf of the computer desk is covered with assorted unicorn statues, a few of my stuffed animals, a winnie the pooh picture frame with K and the boys when they were little, my dirty angel, and the phone base.
I wonder why I am telling you all this? Just a little glimpse into my world, that’s all.
Nothing wrong with collecting girly stuff. feeling like a kid again is not a bad feeling.
