ANGEL IN WHITE
I had only one thing in mind as I headed down the flight of stairs that seemed to wind forever.
My eyes wandered as the sun reflected off othe the white world,
and I smiled at it’s beauty.
I burst through the barrier that was shutting me off from that wonderland
and rejoiced at my sense of freedom.
The child in me began to sing, as I headed towards my destination.
Images of my actions that were soon to follow.
I marveled at the fresh wind that began to caress my skin; and nipped at my nose,
and I smiled deep within myself as the anticipation began to seize me.
Halfway between a large, gray rock, and a field of white flakes,
I plopped myself down and let my arms and legs move,
as if they had a free will of their own.
As a sense of peace filled me, I stared up into the blue sky,
and let the tears fall down my face.
Later, when I left the spot that I had made my own,
I stared down at the angel that was watching me.
