a coiled roll of velcro

Well, here I am still at the hospital with K.

I was a little bitchy this morning when I got woke up by the tech coming in for K’s blood, so he sent me down to the cafeteria to find something to eat. (I got scrambled eggs, bacon, homefries, toast, orange juice and coffee; I ate the bacon, one piece of toast and drank the orange juice. The rest of it is sitting in a tray over by K’s bed).

While I was gone, K puked all over the place (projectile vomit), and they were helping him clean up when I came strolling back in with my food. Ugh.

Doctor came in shortly after that, and said that he needed to stay today – they were not happy about his vomiting, and his belly still hurts when he moves at all. So, the nurse (a nice young woman named Youngmi) put his IV back in to push the fluids, and then gave him some anti-nausea medication and some IV pain killers. He’s out like a light anyway.

I called down to the operator, and he set me up with a Wi-Fi account while K is here, so now I can diddle on my computer whilst he recuperates.

I am glad that I had the foresight last night to bring a change of clothes, my toothbrush and some deoderant. Not to mention the charger for both my computer and my BlackBerry.

The chair that they have in K’s room is SO DAMNED COMFORTABLE!!!!! It’s leather, and it has a control so that you can adjust it anyway that you want. And it’s very soft. I slept in it last night, and the only part of me that is sore is my neck (and a lot of that is because of the tension).

Anyways…..I might just go down to the nurse’s station (all the way down the hall) and request some soap and shampoo, towels and washclothes, and take a shower. (K has a private room with a shower, yay).

I hope K starts feeling better. It’s not a good thing for either of you. Hugs and healing thoughts.
