You have been Survey-tized!
-Do you prefer regular soda or diet soda? I used to like diet soda, but came to the conclusion that if I was going to put something in my body that was so bad for me anyway, it was probably better to have fat-causing sugar than cancer-causing aspartame. Now I just think diet tastes gross. I don’t drink enough soda for the calories to be an issue.
-Do you ever wear your boyfriend’s clothes (if/when you have a boyfriend)? What’s your favorite clothing item to borrow? I wear some of Alan’s clothes. I have a couple t-shirts I’ve acquired from him and when he was away at Basic I got into the habit of wearing his thermal shirts to bed.
-Describe what you usually wear to bed. t-shirt & jam bottoms, or tank or… PJ pants with a t-shirt or tank top usually. I have a couple pairs of actual pajamas, but it’s mostly just bottoms.
-Would you rather live in an old cottage by the sea or a modern apartment in the city? I’m actually torn on this one. I love being near the water, but I don’t know that I could live very far away from people. And I’m rather enjoying living in a city at the moment.
-What do you usually order from a steakhouse? I don’t go to any very often. When I go to Outback, it’s always very important to order a bloomin’ onion and then I’ll generally order a small, but high quality cut of meat with veggies and mashed potatoes. Last time I think I had fish though and it was incredibly tasty.
-Do you consider yourself a good liar? Yes and no. I don’t lie often so I’m out of practice. How well I lie depends on how guilty I feel about the actual lie itself, rather than the thing I’m lying about. And if I feel guilty for keeping the truth from someone, I generally won’t, so I only really lie by omission. I don’t necessarily tell people things they don’t really need to know or things it would only hurt them to hear.
-What is one thing you swore you’d never do but ended up doing? I don’t that I’ve ever sworn not to do anything except what was in my marriage vows, but I haven’t broken any of those. I never swore not to drink or smoke or do drugs or wait to have sex until I was married. I have sworn not to do drugs like cocaine or heroin and I I haven’t so far. I don’t hold myself to unreasonable standards, so it’s easy not to break promises to myself.
-The 3 best years of your life so far? I don’t think there are any full years I can mark out as being the best. They’ve all had their ups and downs. The last year has been good, but at this time last year, we were both unemployed and things were very hard. Then I had to be without Alan for so long. So there’s no way I can actually pick 3 out of the last 27.
-What’s your favorite farm animal? Horses of course! While I like all animals in the general sense and respect them as sentient beings, I don’t much care for most farm animals. I never much liked cows. I’ve worked with pigs, so I know exactly what I’m not missing there. Sheep… I like them, but they’re so cowardly! I’m not a fan of birds generally, so chicken, ducks, and geese aren’t high on my list. I do like goats. Goats are just cool.
-What genre was the last book you read? Literary fiction (as opposed to other types of fiction). I suppose, given its age, it could also be termed "classic." The book in question was Middlemarch by George Eliot and it took me forever to plow through. Now I’m reading another "classic," Justine by the Marquis de Sade.
-Which are you more afraid of: snakes, spiders or mice? Definitely spiders. They fucking freak me out. I like mice and snakes. I’d actually like to own a snake, but I’m not sure I could feed it mice. LOL
-Edward Cullen is not a vampire, he’s a fairy. Agree or disagree? He’s the only glimmer (haha) of sense in that entire series of books, and only the barest glimmer at that. At least he has the good sense to see that tragic heroines like Juliet (and Bella?) are complete fucking idiots. Rawr! Those books and their popularity irritate the crap out of me.
-Would you understand what I meant if I mentioned yuri or yaoi? I wouldn’t have before I started this survey. Then I just had to google it. LOL
-Do you even read manga? No, I never really got into it.
-Favorite sandwich filling? I don’t eat sandwiches very often. Roast beef or egg salad I suppose.
-Why are you pro-life/pro-choice? I’m pro-choice not because I think abortion is such a wonderful thing, but because making something illegal doesn’t actually stop people from doing it and only serves to make it more dangerous. So I’m pro-women’s safety and well-being and pro-children coming into loving families able to support them and love them, rather than being raised in foster care or in homes where they are unwanted. And those things can only happen if women have a choice
-Are you anything like your star sign? Most definitely, especially when you take into consideration other factors in my natal chart. Pisces is dreamy, lazy, and contradictory. And I so am. LOL… And Leo (my moon sign) is egoistic and likes to be the center of attention. Cancer rising makes me a homebody. I can’t recall my entire chart at the moment, but it was pretty accurate.
-What’s your political stance? Democratic Socialist (oh the horror!) LOL… I do believe that capitalism is a blight on our country’s existence and that eventually it will give way to true democracy. I also believe that the government’s job is govern. That’s what I pay them for and I think my taxes should be returned to me in the form of public services like education, healthcare, law enforcement, and other radical programs. ~_^
-Does it bother you when surveys assume you have an iPod/cellphone/siblings/etc? No because most people do have those things. I did read in "Time" magazine that the number of single-child households is on the rise. It was very rare to be an only child when I was a kid.
-Thunderstorms or blizzards? Thunderstorms, definitely. Thunderstorms rarely last all that long and at the end I usually only need a towel to clean up any water that may have come in the window. It doesn’t require a shovel and several layers of clothing.
-How high are the highest pair of heels you own? Probably about 4"
-Do you wear skirts, pants or dresses more? Definitely pants. I rarely ever wear skirts, much to Alan’s disappointment.
-If you were in a band, what sort of music would you play? Pop-punk!
-Does being able to play guitar really make someone more attractive? I’d like to say no, but the truth is that most of the guys I’ve dated have played some kind of musical instrument, so I guess it does.
-What’s the legal drinking age where you live? Do you think it should be lowered/raised? It’s 21 and I think it’s probably all right where it is for now. I think our culture puts so much emphasis on alcohol that to lower the drinking age would be risky. I think that in a culture where alcohol is taken more for granted, it’s probably fine. On military posts the drinking age used to be 18, but they were having so many problems with it that it went back up to 21. That’s a pretty good argument against it to me.
-Do you own any headbands with bunny ears? I used to. I think I may have gotten rid of them before we moved though.
-Flavored water or fruit juice? 100% Fruit juice please. I only like flavored water if it’s carbonated.
-Do you believe in heaven and hell? If so, which one do you think you’re going to? not really. I don’t like to think that this life is just preparation for something else. I believe in reincarnation and that all of our experiences lead us to greater understanding of ourselves and of the world.
-What color is your favorite underwear? I don’t have a favorite, but I do like a set I got at Target. Coral pink boy shorts with cream-colored polka dots and lace trim with a matching bra. Very cute.
-Are you photoshop-savvy? Not really, although I’d like to improve. I really only used it for an art assignment or two back in the day. I’d like to learn how to create real art with it though
-What soap is currently in your bathroom? Handsoap is Method Pink Grapefruit. Body wash is Method Marine Naturals Water Flower (and Irish Spring for Alan who does not want to use my girly soap)
-What news channel do you watch? We only got Direct TV hooked up yesterday, so as of right now, none. I do likes me some Anderson Cooper though. ^-^
-You need new clothes, what’s the first store you go to? Depends on what I’m getting. Jeans – Torrid. T-Shirts – Target or Old Navy. Button-downs – Lane Bryant maybe. Sweaters – Eddie Bauer. I don’t shop much these days and most of the clothes in my closet from those five stores.
-What book do you think they should make into a movie? The Immortals Quartet by Tamora Pierce!
-Would you rather visit Europe, Africa or Asia? Europe, although I would like to see North Africa, the Middle East, and western Asia and the Indian subcontinent.
-Is your room tidy right now? Meh. It could use some decluttering, but the rest of the house looks good.
-Where do you want your honeymoon? Since that’s long past, I’d really like to go on vacation to Alaska or Norway.
-What types of video do you normally watch when you go on youtube? Music videos
-Congratulations, you won a free holiday for you and one other person! Who’s coming with you and where are you going? Well, I promised I would take Zach with me if I won a trip around the world (he was trying to get me to try Wonka Bars by tempting me with the chance to win a trip around the world), but otherwise I’d take Alan. And we’d go to Alaska or Norway if it’s summer and Barbados or Hawaii if it’s winter.
-Has any ofyour immediate family had cancer? No, although I keep telling my dad to get his skin checked. My grandmother had breast cancer and my mom had some kind of precancerous polyp.
-Does it bother you when the guy/girl you’re with checks out other girls/guys? I’d probably laugh it was Alan, although I might be a little ticked off.
-Tattoos: hot or trashy? Generally hot, but occasionally trashy. It’s all down to the person wearing them.
-What accent do you wish you had? I think I’d like to have a British accent. Sometimes I’m tempted to spend a day talking like that just for fun.
-Do you prefer to plan things are you more of a spur-of-the-moment type person? I like to plan the major things, but the little things I’ll play by ear.
-Would you ever dye your hair an unnatural color (eg purple, blue etc)? At the moment the underside of my hair is deep blue.
-Do you prefer your first name or your middle name? My middle name was St. John and now it’s Austin, so definitely my first name. LOL
-Is it over 6 months until your birthday? Yes, but only by a couple weeks.
-On a scale of 1-10, how much of a hopeless romantic are you? Probably a 2 or 3. I’m not romantic at all.
-Of the seven deadly sins, which are you most guilty of? Sloth! I’m such a lazy bum.
~Liz
I’m totally going to swipe this survey. I will have a lot of the same answers, though 🙂

Ugh, diet soda is so NASTY! And I LOVE mashed potatoes at steak houses, but backed potatoes aren’t too bad either. 😉 Especially when tops with a bit of butter first, then piling on cheese and bacon. 😉 Hehe. And I agree about trying to pick 3 “whole” years to describe as the “best”. It really is just fragments. Like you said, there are ups and downs ALL the time. That’s why I couldn’t own a snake
Warning Comment
because of the whole feeding them “mice” thing, even if frozen. Because you just KNOW those mice were killed SPECIFICALLY to be feed to snakes. So sad. 🙁 Plus, I’ve owned 4 mice in my life as pets, and I could NEVER imagine feeding a mouse to a snake. I’ve actually held one of my mice while it died, which was terribly heartbreaking. :'( I’ve also held wild mice that Panda has brought back nearly

dead. 🙁 I’d like to think I’m comforting them by gently stroking them and feeling their little hearts stop beating, but sometimes I wonder if it would be quicker and better for them to die by Panda’s jaws, and if they just suffer while being in my hands. 🙁 I think too much. And I’m too sentimental. :-p I too hate Twilight. I would like to have a book burning and BURN EVERY COPY. 😉 And maybe

Stephanie Myer for good measure as well. 😉 At least it would keep her from defiling the art of literature any further. 😉 I totally agree about why you are pro-choice and wish I had written the same thing. 😉 And did finding our what yaoi/yuri is freak you out a bit? 😉 I like your political stance. I may steal it. Hehe. Hope you don’t mind. 😉 A pop-punk band? Who do you recommend to listen to
Warning Comment
to actually hear what pop-punk sounds like? And I would love to get my entire astrological chart done. 🙂 So wait, your middle name was your mom’s last name, I’m assuming? I’m not going to subject my kids to something like that. Lol. They’ll get regular names as middle names. 😉 And sorry I left you such a long string of notes. I felt like being talkative today. 😉 *GIGANTIC HUGE HUGE LOVING HUGS*

RYN: I think it’s funny that your parents don’t/didn’t have cell phones. Are they super old-fashioned or something? Do they have a computer, iPods, stuff like that? Hehe, I’m teasing, but I do want to know if they have any of that stuff, just out of interest. 🙂 And thank you for the advice about stretch marks. I with definitely try the massaging. Massage are never a bad thing, right? 😉
