Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?

We found out where Alan is getting stationed! Ft. Carson, Colorado, right outside Colorado Springs.

It’s so good to finally know. I feel like I can actually make plans now. I know that it’s possible that it will change, but I’m really hoping it doesn’t. Colorado Springs is a big city, and I’m excited about living there. Everyone says it’s beautiful out there and the pictures I’ve seen give me no reason to doubt that. My mom even concedes that it’s very pretty, but she missed the trees. Then again, I’ve always preferred a rockier, somewhat starker landscape. And right now my plan is to drive there, since I have no desire to traumatize my cats by sticking them in a cargo hold. That should help me get used to both the elevation and the time change more gradually. I think the hardest part will be adjusting to the lack of humidity. My skin gets dry here. I can’t imagine how much moisturizer I’m going to go through out there.

And let’s not forget that they have snow measurements for September through May. Yikes! But on the other hand, it’s not even as snowy as Vermont and the temperatures look comparable to Connecticut’s.

At any rate, now I can get going on this whole thing. I feel much better about this whole thing now. I know our families will both be eager to visit us out there. Suppose I should start looking for a place to live? My requirements are: 2 or more bedrooms, large living room, lots of kitchen counter space, cat-friendly, laundry in unit, and it would be awesome if utilities were included.

Now I’m off to see what our BAH will be. When Alan and I talked about it before we decided we wanted to live off-post, just so our entire lives didn’t revolve around the military.

So yay!

I’m so glad you guys finally found out! Yah! Now you can get all excited and planny-planning about it. 🙂 *GIGANTIC RIDICULOUSLY HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE LOVING HUGS* RYN: I had both my psychiatrist and my primary physician look at it and they both said it wasn’t a rash caused by Lamictal but an allergic reaction to something. :-p

I’ll bet it’s a relief to finally know where you’re headed. Hopefully this helps things go more smoothly. I’ve heard Colorado was very beautiful, but I’ve never actually been there. You will have to tell us all about it and take plenty of pictures. *Hugs* 🙂

ryn: That makes sense about the nitro. Now that I think of it, when I did use it, I always got that ‘blood rush to the head’ headache pain, never stopped to think of what that would feel like while having a migraine! But depakote is a new prevention med for me to hear about, thanks! I’ll look into it.
