The Next 1001 Days

Well, I’ve finally finished my list of goals to work on over the next 1001 Days. I spent quite a lot of time browsing random lists, which would somehow inspire totally unrelated goals, but it worked.

So this is what I’m working on from October 1st, 2011 to June 28th, 2014.

The Challenge:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on your part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past – frequently simple challenges such as New Year’s resolutions or a ‘Bucket List’. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips, study semesters, or outdoor activities.

I love your list! I looked for inspiration this year, too, and was able to find things I really wanted to do or inspired some sort of variation.

RYN: How does that cooking wine work out? I’ve heard that it’s terrible, but I don’t know if such statements are just the product of pretentious food writers and TV chefs…

RYN: tried that, the horse kept chewing the pillows.
