Sigh of Happiness

My computer is all better! Yay!

Well, not all better. We had been hoping for a way to repair the current installation of Windows XP, but it proved rather stubborn so last night Alan took it down to Mikey T’s house in Norwalk. Mike installed Linux to back up all the files, then deleted Windows, reinstalled it, then deleted Linux and put all the files back. We’ve had to re-download and reinstall some software and go through the back-up folder and put things back where they belong.  Alan still has to download Firefox, PhotoShop, and AIM and I lost a couple of the most recent books on my book list.  I’m wondering if I could find out from the library what my last round of books included. I can’t really remember at this point, although I know I was onto the next page of the list and when I opened it I was still at the bottom of the previous page.

I’m glad to have my little laptop back, though.  It’s been such a faithful little thing over the last few years, it would be a shame to lose it now… especially since we can’t afford a new one… LOL!

I also heard from Alisa yesterday. They have a toddler who will be starting the second week of March, so as of now, that’s when I start, too. However, they’re putting up a huge new banner on the archway over the driveway, so that may very well attract some families who would start even sooner. One never really knows with the daycare world, especially when a center is just getting started.

Anyway, I just wanted to let my faves know that I’m back and will be a faithful noter now. ^_^ For the time being, however, I’m off to research salons. I haven’t decided if I’ll do my own hair for Lisette’s wedding or if I’ll rely on someone else.
