Setting Sail

After just a little over 5 hours of sleep, I’ll be setting off for the airport to fly rather indirectly to Connecticut (whatever happened to direct flights? My mom and I flew from New York to San Francisco non-stop). Anyway. Then the next morning my dad will be driving us into the city (much to his chagrin) where my grandmother, mom, and I will board the Norwegian Gem for Bermuda. Exciting, right?

So it’s very likely that I’ll be incommunicado for a while, at least until I get back on dry land. I’m not bringing my computer because it seems silly to have on a cruise to Bermuda. Unfortunately, I’ll have plenty of time to kill once I’m back in Connecticut. Hopefully I can stay a night or two with Lisa, where I’m sure I’ll be able to borrow one of the many at their house, however briefly.

While I’m gone, I will be keeping a record of my travels, which will hopefully be both entertaining and informative. And I’ll be taking lots of pictures too.

I’m still worried about the trip… mostly just because I’m a worrier. But it’s less about the traveling itself and more about Alan and my kitties. I’ve been a stay-at-home cat mommy for a year. They’re not used to being left alone for very long. Neither is Alan for that matter. He’s never lived on his own for more than a few days. Even though we’ve spent plenty of time apart, I was the one living at home and managing everything while he got told how to brush his teeth during training.

Anyway.

So I’m setting sail in just a couple days. I hope everyone stays safe and happy while I’m gone. I expect that once I get back I’ll be spending quite a bit of time playing catch-up.
