One More Thing
It certainly seems like 2009 is off to a bang-up start. On top of every other aggravation in the last couple weeks, I was taking a shower yesterday morning and found that the water was suddenly rising. Only there didn’t seem to be any reason. I got out of the shower and after an hour it didn’t seem like it had gone down at all, and it sort of left my brain. Then I was washing my face at the kitchen sink before bed last night and I heard the strangest noise coming from the pipe… This glugging sort of sound. And there’s a definite smell to it. So I go back to the bathroom to take out my contact lenses and find that the water from the sink has now backed up into the bathtub. Ack!
So I made Alan call our landlord. I was afraid there was a mouse or some such stuck in the pipe. It’s been so cold the last couple days that any animal with a brain cell would be trying to find shelter… even if it means climbing through the drains. Anway, Mike and Carmela came over this morning to try to fix it. They drained the line into a bucket and snaked the pipe. I must say that was a disgusting morning activity. On the other hand, they did pull out the shapeless, unidentifiable black mass that was blocking the pipe. And they replaced the downstairs smoke detector.
Seriously, though… It’s just been one thing after another lately. Things are so deranged right now that I don’t even want to go into it.
In better news, Pamela e-mailed me the job offer letter, which is very exciting. I e-mailed her back to accept, so now it’s a matter of getting everything straightened out with the background check circus. Sigh of relief anyone? It’ll be nice to start working soon.
In reference to my underpinning woes of the last entry, I did not find anything special at Saxon-Kent. I was rather disappointed, actually. But I think I can solve this simply by folding the trim over the top of the corset and sewing it down. I won’t even need to bust out the Singer. ^_^ And corsets are comfortable for you doubters out there. They take a little getting used to, but I’ll take the slight discomfort of gentle squeezing over the stabbing pains and unsightly bulges of "shapewear" any day, thank you.
Anyhoo… I’m off. Not like I have anywhere to go or anything to do. I’m just… off.

No mam. I heard of it though. I’ll add it to the list. I don’t really like anything too dark and serious. These are naughty and funny. I found out she also has a “mermaid” series… oooo
