New Alphabet Survey (stolen from Magenta)

A
ANY particular reason your taking this survey? Because for some reason I’m feeling the need to hover around OD, so I might as well write an entry while I’m here.
ARE you at school, work, or home? Home and in my pajamas, thank you very much.
AGE at which you 1st drank alcohol? My mom used to give me sips of wine on holidays, but I don’t think I really made it a point to drink until I was 16 or 17

B
BOUGHT anything from Spencer’s? Not in a very long time, since I haven’t lived in a dorm room since I was 20.
BRAVEST person you know? It might be actually be Lisa. She’s very adventurous at any rate.
BLONDES or brunettes? Having been both (and a soulless ginger as well), I prefer being a brunette. Brunettes with light eyes always look more interesting.

C
CRAPPIEST band? Possibly Alan’s punk band. As for anything that’s actually played on the radio, if I don’t like a song I won’t listen to it and never bother to find out who sings it.
CAN your dad beat you in a race? Probably. I might stand a chance here, though, because he would have to get used to the thinner air. I also have longer legs.
COULD you bungee jump? Maybe. I’d consider it. I’d almost rather skydive, because at least if that gets fucked up, the chance of death is 99%. If your bungee cord snaps, you’ll probably just be in excruciating pain and possibly disabled for the rest of your life.

D
DRAWING or painting? Well, I usually draw an outline before I paint, so both
DOES your bedroom need cleaning? The desk is a bit cluttered, but other than that it’s pretty neat.
DO the drapes match the curtains? I think this is supposed to be "Do the drapes match the carpet?" Because drapes and curtains are pretty much the same thing. And the answer is, almost but not quite.

E
EVER swear at your parents? Maybe once or twice when I was really pissed at them. But I never swore around them when I was growing up. It seemed disrespectful. I still swear around them only rarely although I swear like a sailor around other people.
EARN enough to pay the bills? Alan does. I don’t work so… no.
EXORCIST or SAW movies? I’m not really a fan of horror movies and the Saw movies just seem like a waste of my gag reflex. So if I had to choose, I’d say Exorcist. At least it’s a classic.

F
FLOWERS or chocolate? Flowers. Mostly because I can buy myself chocolate. I rarely buy myself flowers. Neither does Alan. So if anyone wants to send me some, feel free. ^_^
FUNNEL cake or Elephant Ears? Funnel cake! Is there a difference between them though?
FIRED from a job? No, but I have been suddenly changed to a "seasonal" employee at The Gap. And I was written up for not being a "team player" at one daycare. Of course, I told them that if being a team player meant breaking laws and sacrificing my rights as an employee as well as the well-being of the kids, it was a shit team anyway. Not in so many words, but pretty close.

G
GIVING or receiving gifts? I prefer giving… interestingly enough, this applies to other "gifts" as well.
GOING to the movies or a play? Movies are cheaper and easier, but plays tend to be more interesting.
GONE to the bathroom this hour? No

H
HAVING or adopting a baby? Well, I’m working on having one, but I wouldn’t rule out adoption
HORSES or cows? Horses! Cows smell and make me kind of sad.
HEAVY or light-weight drinker? I used to be the heavy-weight champ. Now, not so much. Although I suspect I could still drink a couple of my friends under the table.

I
IS Michael Jackson in heaven? I don’t believe in heaven and hell. But I’m pretty sure he’s being reincarnated as a cockroach.
INSIDE or outside? I spend most of my time inside, but I do enjoy the great outdoors, particularly when I’m not sharing my space with thousands of other people. I had an excellent walking trail back in Connecticut that I always went to when I was working out a story.
INSTANT or regular coffee? Regular. I’ve become quite a coffee snob since I started drinking in black. Starbucks Blue Java is the best I’ve ever had.

J
JORDAN or Tiger Woods? In order to choose Jordan, I would have to forgive him for "Space Jam" and I’m not sure that’s possible. And Tiger Woods, despite everything that’s come out in the last few years, still made a name for himself in a sport dominated by old white men.
JETTA or Saab? Jetta. Saab’s cost too much to repair here and every high school kid in Connecticut aspires to drive a Jetta.
JULY 4th or St. Patrick’s Day? St. Patrick’s Day. I’m not so patriotic that Independence Day is much more than a good fireworks display. And even though everyone’s Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, it’s actually traceable in my family.

K
KOOL-AID or Crystal Lite? Kool-Aid. And it can do double-duty as temporary hair dye. Rock on.
KANGAROO or Camel? Kangaroo
KETCHUP or mustard? Both please! And yes, I prefer my buns toasted.

L
LIGHTS on or off during sex? Either way is good. And I do get a nice view if we leave them on.
LOTTERY scratch offs or Power Ball? Either. I rarely play the lottery, no matter what form it takes. I also have some mild hostility to the Power Ball. Being a national lottery, anyone can win, but they didn’t sell it in New York state, which meant New Yorkers lined up around the block at Connecticut convenience stores when the jackpots got high.
LIQUOR or beer? Liquor, although Fat Tire Ale is surprisingly good.

M
MONTH of choice? I love the fact that my birthday is in February, but I like September’s weather the best.
MEAL you cook best? Chicken Francaise with linguine and steamed asparagus. So good.
MISS the most: Zach. Is that awful?

N
NEVER would I: Give up my pets
NIGHT owl or early bird? Can we invent a new designation that works best in the middle of the day and early evening? I can get up early or stay up late. I’m flexible
NOTE to self: Send back the Snapshot device to Progressive

O
OPEN your own jars? Not that I have any other option most of the time. There are things that I’ve had to get Alan to open, simply because he has much bigger hands than I do.
OFFER to help old people? Sometimes
ONLY in America: Would we have a Constitutional amendment outlawing slavery and involuntary servitude and the government still tries to get away with not paying its workers.

P
PRESCRIPTIONS you have now or in the past? None now. I have been on Lamictal, Depakote, Ativan,Risperdal, Wellbutrin, hormonal birth control pills, as well as azithromycin, percocet, amoxicillin (lots of ear infections as a kid), and various other antibiotics.
PAPER or plastic? I bring cloth bags most of the time, but get plastic whenever I’m running low on small garbage bags for kitty litter
PRETTY Woman or Sixteen Candles? Pretty Woman all the way.

Q
QDOBA or Chipotle? Neither. I don’t like Mexican food (figures that I live in the Southwest, right?)
QUIT my job for: My own happiness and health
QUANTITY or quality? Some studies have shown that in terms of spending time with your kids or loved ones, it’s more about quantity than quality. But I’d rather have amazing sex once a week than terrible sex every night.

R
ROADTRIP or flying? Road trip, but I have to admit that the speed involved with air travel is a strong attraction
RESPONSE to a sneeze? Bless you.
RIGHT or left handed? I write and draw right-handed, but I’m left-side dominant in other things.

S
SIT or stand all day? I sit, but I’d be healthier if I spent more time on my feet
SMELL you hate? Tar and diesel engines
SUSHI of choice? I have never had sushi

T
THANK goodness it’s: getting warmer
TELL me your middle name? It’s Austin now, which was my maiden name. Growing up my middle name was St. John. Hilary got Renee and me and Nora got stuck with St. John. Is that fair?
TODAY is: A lazy gray Sunday

U
UNDER my bed is: Two storage boxes, a suitcase, a box with fabric and patterns and such, lots of shoes, two small dumbbells, a heavy flashlight, and possibly a cat, since only one of them is out here.
UNDERWEAR brand? Various. Generally I go for hipsters and really cute, retro boyshorts.
USUALLY I sing: In the shower, in the car, at karaoke nights, and while playing Rock Band.

V
VITAMINS you take? NatureMade Women’s Multi, Fish Oil, and Viactiv Calcium
VERY much like? Nutella and French bread
VACCINES I’ve had: None recently, but the usual round of childhood ones. The chicken pox vaccine came along long after I’d suffered through the itching. I never get flu shots because it seems pointless. I haven’t had the flu in over 10 years. If I get it, it’ll be another decade before I get it again. I probably should get a tetanus booster though. It’s been a while. And when I have kids, I probably will get vaccinated for flu and pertussis.

W
WITHDRAWS from: General stupidity and incompetence
WEAPONS I own? A couple swords, a flail (really), a nice dagger that lives in my nightstand, kitchen knives, and a sharp tongue.
WAFFLES or pancakes? Waffles, of course. They hold syrup better.

X
X-RAY you’ve had? Routine ones on my teeth and one on my knee when I tore some cartilage in high school
X-LOVER’s Name? Just one? Ira, Jeremy, Chris, Kevin, Arthur, Ed, Will, Randy, Dave… yeah… I was a bit slutty in college. And that’s just the guys I had sex with. Still, I suppose it’s nowhere near as bad as some people.
X-TRA toppings of: Cheese, chicken, and broccoli

Y
YEAR you were born? 1983
YARD sale or goodwill? Goodwill. I’ve discovered some serious treasure there. 1930’s silver plate for $10 for 12 place settings. A $300 dollar sweater for $12. I’m just that good.
YELLOW or green? Green. Yellow has never been a good color for me.

Z
ZOO you’ve been to? Bronx, Beardsley, and Cheyenne Mountain
ZACK Morris or Slater? Zack. I usually prefer tall dark and handsome, but Zack had entirely too much charm.
ZITS are: Annoying but inevitable with how sensitive my skin is.

RYN: ouch dude. right in the confidence…

May 22, 2011

RYN: That was just part of my charm right there. i’m showing my sensitive side. for the ladies like. to seem less threatening. sexually.

May 22, 2011

I like this survey! I will probably steal it (and maybe some answers, too).

May 22, 2011

I think funnel cake has the same batter as, but is crispier than an elephant ear, due to its higher surface-to-mass ratio. RYN: Yeah, but I don’t think I wanna raise a fuss when I don’t know if my job is gonna get cut…
