Interviewed by l’amour
The Interview-
Here are the rules:
1 — Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed.
2 — I will respond; I’ll ask you five questions.
3 — You’ll update your journal with my five questions, and your five answers.
4 — You’ll include this explanation.
5 — You’ll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed.
1. What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?
I would have to say it was during the ceremony when the minister started talking about the rings as a circle and a symbol of eternity. It was all Alan and I could do not to bust out laughing, and if you’ve ever seen "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry," you’ll understand why. Here’s a clip.
2. What was your absolute favorite wedding gift?
This one is a tie. My grandmother made us a beautiful quilt, which is something of a tradition in our family, and my Aunt Buffy gave me my great-grandmother’s silver tea service. It means a lot to me because I’ve always had a great admiration for her. She was a suffragette, a poet, and a memoirist, and most of our family lore has come through her.
3. Which story of yours is your favorite? Why? What’s the plot or storyline?
Tough one. I suppose though, that my favorite is a series of little vignettes featuring the characters Wren Faulkner and Nick Roberts. Wren is a grad student and Nick is a professor, and they have allowed me to pursue some of the fantasies I’ve held onto from my serious crush on my English professor. As of right now, there is no overarching plot, but a series of flirtations that I suppose will eventually bring them together. And the banter between them is way snappier and sexier than anything I would ever have the balls to say in real life.
4. Have you ever tried to get published? If yes, why aren’t you published yet?! And if no, why not?
No, I have not actively tried to get published. I suppose it has a lot to do with a fear of rejection – that somehow I’m not good enough. And even worse, that if I were to get published, that someone I know would read it and think it was crap. LOL. On the other hand, NaNoWriMo came up with a prize for last year’s winners that includes a "proof copy" of their 2007 manuscript and the opportunity to make it available to the public on Amazon.com. I still have to edit (I’ll get started in December), but then I’ll self-publish that one and see how it goes. Plus the site that publishes does not have any exclusivity agreements, so I could still try to pitch it to major publishers.
5. When are you going to post wedding photos??!!
Soon! LOL… Really, I will post them soon. Stefanie gave me two CD’s worth… 410 pictures! I went through and whittled it down to about 130 that I wanted to print and put them on an SD card before I gave the CD’s to my mom. I’ve printed them and done up an album, so when I have the time and inclination to wait for them to upload onto Photobucket, I will immediately post them here. I promise. ^_^ And for anyone in the Connecticut or NY-NJ-CT tristate area, I really must recommend Stefanie Waldron for wedding photos. They are seriously gorgeous and really captured the tone of the day perfectly. She has great ideas and really listened to what we wanted.
Okay, that was fun. ^_^
In abandoned cat news… well, there is none. The weather’s been terrible lately, but when I went over there yesterday the carrier and bowls were gone, and no sign of a cat. Again, I really hope that it’s worked its way into the heart of some compassionate condo-dweller nearby.
In my own feline world, Aladdin has been tortured. He’s gotten ringworm from Karma and he’s nowhere near as willing to let us put stuff on him. We decided to try some more natural remedies rather than pay some ungodly price for the stuff from the vet, and it seems to be working. Unfortunately, we haven’t really been able to see all the spots, so we’ve been missing some. And I wanted to make sure we treated his feet as well. So we gave him a bath with Karma’s medicated shampoo. He made the most-wrenching noises. I wanted to cry. And he put up such a fuss when we went to rinse the shampoo off him that we had to haul him into the shower and do it that way. Glad I thought to put his harness on a couple days ago when I first thought about doing this. And very glad I didn’t try to do it by myself. Suffice it to say that if our home remedies don’t clear it and I need to go a more traditionally medical route, we’ll just go straight for the oral meds. There is no way I am ever bathing him again. And when we wrapped him up in towels and took him into the living room to dry him with my hair dryer, he went so limp that I would’ve thought he was dead except that his little eyes were moving and looking truly pathetic.
He’s clearly forgiven us, though, as he came out from under the bed for some food and played a couple minutes with the laser pointer. He loves that thing. I wonder sometimes what kind of family he had before we adopted him from PAWS. He doesn’t jump up on the counters, he won’t attack feet unless they’re under blankets, and when he gets carried away and bites my arm (love bites), he looks terrified and guilty. Well behaved, yes, but I have to wonder at what price?
Anyway, Louis is hanging out with Alan this morning, and I have laundry to do. Toodles!

Yah for answers! I love how in stories and through writing you can play out your fantasies. I have to admit that I do the same thing. 😉 And that is sooooo funny about the Chuck and Larry thing. I’ve seen the movie and that’s just freaking hilarious! 🙂 And that’s really sweet about the gifts. 🙂 And poor Aladdin! If his former family abused him, I’d like to rip their faces off. *HUGE HUGE HUGS*

P.S.- I really think you should look into getting published and you’re extremely talented. 😉 And also, would you be so kind as to interview me? 😉

Oh! Me, me! Pick me! lol. I’d love to be interviewed ^^ When I worked at the Humane Society, we just had to dab on Miconizole (I probably spelled that wrong) lotion (more like astringent) on the bald spots. It worked really well. I’d ask your vet about that 🙂 I miss my kitty. I can’t wait to get her back ^_^ ~*Stephanie*~

I haven’t been on OD in two and a half years. I was thinking about Harley Quinn this morning, out of the blue, no idea why. Thought I should say hi just in case synchronosity was at work.

Love your new design/poem. Though I believe it’s supposed to have four stanzas–if you want to be really technical. http://writersalmanac.publicradio.org/index.php?date=2006/03/07 ~Kevin
