In Between
Me again… I hope you haven’t all forgotten me. ::sigh::
I’m back at the library again. Lucky me. And even better, there’s some kind of puppet/magic show this morning so there’s a troop of tiny kids wreaking havoc… and I’m down here in the children’s department. Oh well.
I don’t have very much time left. I still haven’t heard from Alisa, but I hope to at some point today. They were closed yesterday for President’s Day, so I hope to hear something soon. My mom says they’ll probably try to have me start with the beginning of a pay period, which (I think) would be next Monday. As long as I start making money soon. It’s been too long.
My birthday is in less than 10 days. I think for a present I just my computer back. Mark is only free on Mondays (why, I have no idea) and Alan was closing yesterday. He did check some computer sites for some ideas on what to try, so I think we’re going to try a couple this afternoon. If those don’t work, he’s opening next Monday, so maybe we can meet up with Mark in the evening. Other than that, I have no idea what kind of presents I want. I’m not very into presents.
I really don’t know what to do with myself these days. Yesterday I went for a meandering drive around West Haven and saw some really nice houses for sale. But I still need to start working before we start looking for a house. In my boredom I did come up with a really awesome idea for a children’s book. It’s about Karma… actually, told by Karma. Alan and I already have a habit of putting words to her weird little expressions, so I’ve elaborated on them to create a first draft. I’m really pleased with it, actually, and I think it’s entirely publishable. I even checked out what’s on the shelves at Border’s and Barnes and Noble, and it’s really pretty unique. I’m excited about it. I tried to find some good kitten images to work on the illustrations, but no such luck so far.
Anyway, I’m down to less than 20 minutes now, and there are other sites I need to check. Blargh. Everybody and their mother is looking for a computer today… Oh! And some complete jerk behind me at the reference desk muttered something along the lines of "why can’t these people get their own damn computers at home." Twerp.
Like I said, I’m off. Now I get to convince Alan to come to a wedding party party at Roberta’s house. Should be fun… for me anyway. For Alan he’ll act like it’s a root canal. ^_^
