Finally!

As my favorites will soon realize, I have finally finished posting this year’s NaNoWriMo novel. Took me long enough, huh?  As always, the entries are Favorites Only, but if you’d like to read it and give me some constructive criticism and feedback, just leave me a note and I’ll had you to my faves list.

I suppose that my next task will be post my wedding pictures. I know I’ve been promising that for quite a while now.  I’m actually still uploading them to PhotoBucket.  Their bulk uploader doohicky doesn’t like me, so I’ve had to go through and do them individually… A very time consuming process to be sure.  However! I’m more than halfway through (I think) so I should start posting a series of entries that are nothing but photos very soon.  I’ll probably make them a separate chapter the same way I do my novel installments.

I painted the window trim yesterday and got the curtains back up, so the place is looking nice and cozy again, especially with how "span" I’ve been keeping everything (as Tom would say at Road’s End Farm).  I still have to do the crown molding. I started to do it yesterday, but the tape we had kept falling down and I’m not tall enough to keep the edges clean without it.  I’m also thinking about painting the bathroom sometime this week.  It really needs it and it wouldn’t be as complicated as the kitchen since everything is white.  The only issue would be getting the walls cleaned up.  Whoever painted it last just didn’t use good "bathroom" paint. It’s pretty gross (mildewy and peeling) and I can’t exactly put a chair in the bath tub to reach the high spots.

I’m feeling very optimistic about my 101/1001, particularly the goal of buying a house.  I’ve been looking at the William Raveis website and it’s rather promising.  I don’t think we’ll have any trouble finding a nice house in a nice neighborhood in West Haven for a good price.  And not only has West Haven been named the best town in CT to raise a family, it has great access to New Haven, including eligibility for the New Haven Interdistrict Magnet Schools, which cover Pre-K through 12th grade with places chosen by lottery from among applicants all over New Haven county.  One school’s curriculum is conducted entirely in both English and Spanish with the goal of making every student biligual and biliterate by 8th grade.  I find that very cool.

So: Job, Save, Reduce Credit Balances, Buy House. Yay!

Oh… and start a family.  Part of me really doesn’t want to wait, but another part of me doesn’t want to be pregnant for two friends’ weddings.  I think that may be the bigger part of me, too, so we’re going to wait until the end of next year to start trying to get pregnant.

Anyway, time to start my day.

I think this will be the month I accomplish my goal of updating twice a week.  If I did it on averages I’d already be done for the month. LOL.

Yay! ^_^ I can’t wait to get my own place and paint it. It sounds both irksome as well as fun 🙂 Glad you’re accomplishing goals, and I can’t wait to see pictures! *hugs* ~*Stephanie*~

Random Noter: I would love to read your novel and give you some criticism. I’m part of a writing group and one of the things I love best is helping fellow writers perfect their craft. I’m favorites only, but I will definitely add you.
