7 Sins Survey
Stolen from Magenta82SURVEYS
Sin #1: Lust
1. Who was the last person you checked out? In a general way, Sam Claflin, who plays Philip in the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. In the flesh, so to speak, that would be Zach and before that, Sgt. Willis, who I’d never met before and who is incredibly good-looking.
2. Who was the person you desired, but they didn’t feel the same? I keep my extra-marital desires to myself. Before I was married, it was Jeremy. Actually it’s not fair to say he didn’t want me… we did hook up a few times. He just wasn’t interested in making it a girlfriend thing.
3. Ever cheated on a significant other? If so, have you learned from it? I have kissed other guys while in a relationship with someone else. But I have never cheated on Alan.
4. Do you watch porn? I have, but mostly it’s too stupid to be believed.
5. Do you masturbate? Hahaha! Yes!
6. Best physical feature on your preferred sex? A certain something in the smile
7. Who are some celebrities that you think are totally hot? Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, Ben Barnes, Orlando Bloom, Sam Claflin, Timothy Olyphant, Matthew MacFadyen (though I haven’t forgiven him for the Pride & Prejudice remake)
8. Did you ever lust after a best friend’s significant other? Well, I did flirt a lot with Randy, though I don’t remember that I did so while he was with Kari, and we did date for a while after they broke up.
9. When was the last time you had sex? A week ago
10. Ever pursued someone, even though they were taken? Shameful as it is, I have. Just about succeeded too.
Sin #2: Gluttony
1. When did you last eat at a restaurant? Last Friday. We went to Jake & Telly’s, a seriously awesome Greek restaurant near our place, with Charlee and Kelby.
2. When did you last have fast food? At Bradley as I was waiting for my plane. I had McDonald’s, which was probably a bad idea because I was in the middle of reading Fast Food Nation. I got Chinese food in Atlanta.
3. What was the biggest meal you’ve had all day? So far all I’ve had is a cup of tea.
4. Do you have too many clothes? How often do you go shopping? I probably have way too many clothes, but I don’t wear half of them. Ironically, I do not have enough jeans. I’m down to two pairs, only one of which fits properly. The other is two sizes too big.
5. What’s something you have a lot of? Tank tops. Too many probably, considering I rarely wear them.
6. Do you eat a lot? I eat a lot the way most Americans eat a lot, but compared to others around me, no. I actually eat very sensibly most of the time.
7. What was the last thing you splurged (spent a lot of money) on? Dinner at Jake & Telly’s. It was almost $80 with tip for just Alan and me. One glass of wine, one bottle of beer. We did get free ouzo at the end though, which is kind of awesome, and the food is incredibly good. They also make their own pita bread and bring you endless plates of it before dinner.
8. What do you spend most your money on (besides bills and necessary stuff)? The occasional bottle of wine, case of beer, and dinner for friends.
9. Last time you ate candy? What was it? I haven’t had candy since the day after I got home. I had Reese’s Minis.
10. Last thing you ate too much of? Nutella. I made Nutella turnovers and made the foolish mistake of having a second one.
Sin #3: Greed
1. Do you share things? How often? I usually share things, but being an adult, it’s not really an issue. I will lend out shoes, purses, even clothes to friends and I love sharing recipes and such. I was terrible about sharing when I was little, probably because I was an only child.
2. Someone asks you for a piece of your cookie. You break it in half, but the pieces aren’t equal. Who gets the bigger piece? If it’s Alan, I get the bigger half. If it’s someone else, they get it. And yes, that is because I don’t want to look like a stingy brat.
3. When you see change on the ground, do you pick it up? Pennies, no, but I will pick up all other forms of currency. I’ve found bills on the ground before too. That’s always fun.
4. How often do you lend money to people? I don’t usually lend, simply because I don’t usually have money to lend. When I got out with friends and only one of us pays, we’ll alternate who does the paying for each thing. When I went out with Erin and Lisette, Lisette got the Starbucks, Erin got the grilled cheese, and I got the movie tickets. It all evens out eventually.
5. Do you looove money? Not in the sense that I would do anything for it and I hate the need for it.
6. If someone offers to pay for you, do you decline or readily accept? I accept. I’m broke as hell!
7. Which of your friends is the wealthiest? Close friends, probably Lisette. She and Rob both have decent jobs. In general, Tina. Despite the fact that she was persistently mediocre in her finance major, she works at KPMG, which is a huge company in Stamford, and her husband (I think) works on Wall St.
8. Would you take a high paying job that you didn’t really like just for the money and benefits? It depends on the sense in which I didn’t like it. If it was just boring or something of that nature, yes. But I won’t sell out my values for money and never have, which means I wouldn’t work for a company that brought harm to others.
9. Ever stole from anyone? What about stole from a store? What happened? Never from a person, but from a store. Never got caught, so nothing happened.
10. Do you ever have enough money? We scrape by… frankly better than some others might in the same situation. We have what we need.
Sin #4: Sloth
1. Last thing you procrastinated on? Paying my car insurance bill. It was due the day after the car broke down and I was feeling fairly hostile towards all things automotive.
2. When you’re at a strip mall and the next store you want to go to is at the other side, do you drive over there instead of take a short walk? I walk… I’m not quite that lazy yet. Although if I’m buying something heavy or bulky I may drive. There’s a big shopping center in town that has a Home Depot on one end so I’d be more inclined to drive.
3. What’s a typical day off of school and/or work like for you? I don’t work, so that’s just a normal day. I get up, go online, have breakfast, maybe go to the gym, shower, do housework, paint or read, make dinner.
4. What’s one talent you have that you don’t really work on, even though you have the ability to be good at it? My writing. I write things, then sort of forget about them
5. How many hours of television do you watch a day? Even though the TV may be on for a long time, I don’t really watch it. I actually find it very hard to just sit down and watch television. I’m almost always doing something else.
6. What about the amount of time you spend on the internet a day? Probably too much.
7. How many hours of sleep do you get a day? Do you sleep in late? I go to bed between 10 and 11 most nights and read for a little while, then wake up around 7:30 or 8, so between 8 and 9 hours. I rarely sleep past 8.
8. Do you drive places that are less than 3 blocks away? Not usually, unless we’re stopping there on our way to or from someplace farther.
9. When was the last time you exercised? Ummm… last week. 😛 Bad Liz!
10. Ever copied and pasted your homework from a website on the internet? Hell no!
Sin #5: Wrath
1. If you could kill one person and get away with it, would you do it? Probably not.
2. Is there anyone you honestly and truly can say that you hate? No, not really.
3. Is there anyone you want revenge on, whether you want to get them back big time or just play a little prank on them for hurting your feelings? I don’t want revenge, but I wouldn’t mind if the universe made my ex, Dave, suffer a little (or a lot).
4. Are you fighting any friends right now? Why? No, although Kelby is still a little weird around me.
5. Last time you were really angry? What happened? I can’t remember the last time I was angry. Most likely I threw things and yelled and cried.
6. When you’re angry, what do you do to calm yourself down? I try to breathe. Once I get to sobbing, the anger usually abates.
7. "Hate is just the fear of loving someone", true or false? False! While hate may be on the same spectrum as love, you can hate someone without any fear that you might love them.
8. What’s the best revenge you ever got on someone? I don’t know that I’ve ever needed to get revenge on someone. I think it’s pretty cool that I’ve had a more interesting life than ex, Dave, who married the first girl he dated after me, got fat, and as far as I can tell, turned into a boring Connecticut yuppie.
9. Was there any hard feelings after your last breakup? On whose end was it on? My last break-up was with Ira, and there may have been some hard feelings on his side. But we’re okay now… it has been 8 years after all.
10. Ever been cheated on? How did that make you feel? Not that I’m aware of.
Sin #6: Envy
1. Is there anyone you’re jealous of? I’m jealous of people who have an easier time of life and who can work at something they enjoy. Off the meds, I’ve been starting to think that I couldn’t handle going back to child care.
2. List three physical features that other people have that you’re envious of (no need to get specific and name people; you can just say something like "brown eyes" or "having perfect eyebrows"): 1. Clear skin (I don’t know why, but mine has been freaking out since I got back to Colorado) 2. A fast metabolism 3. Properly balanced brain chemistry and properly firing synapses…. what? Bipolar disorder is a physical illness!
3. List three personality features that other people have that you’re envious of: 1. Outgoing 2. The ability to be comfortable in all situations 3. Not easily embarrassed.
4. Are you a jealous significant other? Only a little. I try to curb it because we’re both flirts.
5. Could you date someone who was really jealous? No… I tried that and ended up wanting to kill him.
6. What celebrity’s looks do you envy the most? Catherine Zeta-Jones. She’s just one of those people who is genuinely and simply beautiful and will probably remain so her entire life.
7. Do you think anyone is envious of you? In your opinion, what characteristics (physical and mental) do you possess that you think someone might be envious of? I think people might envy my intelligence and my artistic ability.
8. What are a few things you wish you were good at? I wish I were less of a klutz and I wish I were less fearful of rejection.
9. Did you ever date someone, break up, and then see them dating someone very attractive a few days later? Were you jealous of that person? Dave hooked up with Emily shortly after we broke up, but I was never jealous of her. I felt sorry for her and we actually became friends for a while when he started acting with her the way he had with me. I can only assume she either got used to it or he changed drastically if she was willing to marry him.
10. When looking at a love interest’s exes, do you often find yourself jealous of their good looking exes? Sometimes
Sin #7: Pride
1. What’s something you brag about a lot (be honest–we all brag sometimes)? I don’t know that I do. I do like to show off my art.
2. What physical feature do you take the most pride in? My hair. I have pretty awesome hair. It’s also the one thing I worry about. I don’t like to go out when I haven’t done my hair.
3. Are you satisfied with what you have? In life, yeah, for the most part.
4. Be honest…when someone istelling you something, do you often change the subject so it’s about you and your accomplishments instead? No, though I may try to empathize with a situation based on my own experiences… that’s just part of having a conversation.
5. Do you like talking about your achievements? Sometimes
6. Do your parents tend to brag about how well you came out? I don’t know. I think my dad brags on my art.
7. Do you strive to be better than most people? Do you think competing with others is healthy? I do strive to be better than most people… or rather, I strive to give myself cause for thinking I’m better than most people. That doesn’t sound quite right… It’s more that I should be the most important person in my own life. That doesn’t mean I don’t value others’ accomplishments and abilities or that I think I’m better than everyone else. I don’t know… that still doesn’t sound right.
8. What do you do better than most people? Cope with emergencies and maintain my composure.
9. Do you believe in taking pride in things you can’t control (ex. being proud of your heritage, being proud of your skin color, being proud of your natural artistic abilities)? Why not? I do think it’s important to know your history. And while natural talent is great, it’s nothing without the hard work that makes you better.
10. Who are you competing with right now (it could be anything–classmates for a grade, co-workers for a position, other girl for a guy, etc.)? I’m not competing with anyone but myself at the moment. Which isn’t working out all that well, I gotta say. 😛

I might fill out this survey, but I think I’d have a lot of similar answers 🙂 I loved Fast Food Nation, though it didn’t permanently stop me from eating fast food.
