Mostly Good Stuff

What a busy day today!  We were out of the house from 1:30pm until almost 8:30.  It was pretty weird.

Tots got his two year check-up today.  Guess what?  He’s healthy and developmentally right where he should be.  Anyone surprised?  Not me!

He now weighs 22lbs and 11oz and is 33 inches tall.  (The numbers themselves kind of amused me, 11, 22, 33.)  He’s now in the 10th to 15th percentile for height, which is a step up from 5th to 10th where he was.  He’s not on the bottom curve for his weight, but he’s following his own line and getting closer.  The doctor checked all his other stuff, eyes, ears, reflexes, all the usual stuff, and he’s doing great.

Before she came in though, the nurse had to take a blood sample from his finger.  It didn’t seem to bother him one bit.  She said, "He’s been the easiest kid all day."  Notice, she didn’t say baby or toddler, she said kid.  He just sat there and let her do her business.  He didn’t cry or whimper, just watched.

He didn’t like the shots so much, but got over the ordeal pretty quickly.  They gave him a new book, like they always do, and he was just fine.

After that, we visited Rosie for a couple of minutes, and had some food at Friendly’s.  I typed up a play by play of how awful the service was, but you don’t want to hear it.  I’m just going to throw out this question:  Would you want to wait over half an hour just to get your check with a sleepy toddler who just got shots at the doctor’s office?  How annoyed would you be?

We visited my work.  They can never get the safe open and needed my help.  Tots fell asleep in the car, and I thought he would have woken up when we got inside like he always does.  He gets really excited to see all my friends there and all the decorations, too.  Nope, he stayed right asleep in my arms.  After a little while, he woke up happy to poke the Christmas balls on the tree and play with Fun and the other girls.

The rest of the night has been pretty uneventful, besides Tots going to sleep relatively easily and on time.  That was nice.

Poor sleepy baby! Boo on bad service!

December 23, 2010

Boo at Friendlys. We have one we call the “yucky” Friendlys. It’s right off post, convenient, but really bad service, (mainly due to all the servers are incompetent, even the ones who are giving best effort.) Then, there’s the “good” Friendlys, but we had to walk out of there last time we tried to go, because NO ONE came to our table, even for waters, for over 15 minutes. Did I piss somebody off the last time I was in there? Can’t think of how. Glad Tots is well. I never concerned myself with the growth charts. They can scare you to death over that crap. You and Pi are both smallish people, as is the L family, so your kid is going to be smallish. Glad he managed shots well. It killed me to have to put the kids through that.
