Christmas Day
Well, I guess I’m sick again, but at least it didn’t settle in until we were winding down our Christmas plans.
It was a good day. We got the time to open presents together. Tots liked the ride-on quad thing we got him, but Pi and I hate the little song it sings. ( I took out the battery. After two years of annoying-sounding toys, this is the first that I just gave up on.) He liked all the little cars and trucks and stuff that we got him. He didn’t play with the nestling dolls until Sunday, but that’s okay. All in all, he had a good time.
Pip’s Christmas was very nice. I think it went very smoothly, but I would have to agree to random seating next year to mix it up. (That was her idea.) The food was good, and I even tried her "vegetarian" turkey. It tasted tasty, as did everything else she cooked, like the slow cooker lasagna. Well done, Pip!
She even did a really great job on presents. Pi loves the scarf she knitted him. He hasn’t worn a scarf since he lost his favorite one years ago. He’s been using it since he got it. Yay for warm necks! She gave me a coupon book and 48 potholders. This really got me. She told me that she had a present for me, but now it is sort of irrelevant, so I would be getting my birthday present for Christmas and something else for my birthday. The early birthday present was the aforementioned 48 potholders. This kind of confused me. She then disappeared and came back with a box of 48 potholders, but didn’t say a word about it until it was present time. Since I was still a little flummoxed, I had let it go for the time being. Pip then pulled a few out one by one to show me.
I was thinking, "That’s really awesome that she put so much time into making all these for me, but I just don’t know why she would think I needed so many potholders and where am I going to put them. I mean sure, they’re nice, but seriously, what am I going to do with them all….OOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH." When are so many potholders not so many potholders? When they will be one afghan in the future.
We apparently left a whole bunch of stuff there, like Tots’ high chair thing and a whole bag of presents from dad. Tots was getting tired, and we were, too.
After a quick stop home, we headed over to Shleprock’s house. When we tried to give him his present, he pushed it aside so that Tots could receive his. Shleprock was too excited for Tots that you could tell he just wanted to rip the paper off with a big TA DA! We left all those things at his house so that Tots has some new stuff to play with when he goes over there.
All in all, it was a good day. Pi really liked the two CD’s that I got him, and I quite enjoy the thick heated socks he got for me.
I’m surprised I wrote so much, but I guess I just wanted to get it all written down before I forgot. I’m thinking about going to bed early for once, but we’ll have to see about that.

I love the idea of giving you squares in reference to an afghan. Only Pip. *grins* I gave my sister an afghan for chrismas as well. Glad you had a good day!

Well, my plans got all changed…. So I had to give you something! Also, Mom needs to stop leaving her half-filled, milky coffee mugs here…. Especially when they’re handwash only….
