Apparently, It Takes A Village…

…to complete a crossword puzzle. 🙂

At work, we cut the tops off newspapers to get credit from the companies.  I usually leave one of the Puddles newspaper, so that I can check the crossword puzzles.  Today, I did what I could for Across and Down, and showed it to my coworker Lenny.  He then took a look and came up with a few answers, which helped me figure out even more.  Then one of the state troopers came in.   Lenny asked him about one of the clues, which got him interested.  He came up with a few answers himself, and then we ended up puzzling out more and more of the puzzle.

One clue: six letters "Be right with you!"  I got this one: In a sec.

Another clue: five letters Bandits in Vegas?  Lenny figured this one out: slots.

Clue:  four letters "Deck the Halls" syllables  The state trooper figured: Fa La

Then a different state trooper came over to take a look.  Clue:  four letters Course file  He figured : rasp

Without tooting my own horn, I did figure out most of it, but I couldn’t have done it without help.  It was kind of funny doing it with them.  Like, we just had to finish the thing.  We’d say stuff like, "If this is that, then that could be this," or we would just know the answers right away.  I had to change "Diet Tab" to "Diet Pop."  It took us a lot of attempts to figure out "cronies."  The last part of the puzzle that we got was the big one, the key to it all, and then we were done.  Great team work!

I got a compliment out of it, too.  The first trooper said to me, "Wow, Ducky, you’re very well-rounded."

It was fun, but wait until we get to the Sunday one!
