All Good Things

I don’t feel like writing much, but there are a couple of things I want to remember when I look back at this diary.

  • While I was washing dishes, Tots and Pi were playing outside.  I heard feet on the stairs, and the door bust open.  Tots handed me a flower they had found.  Pi said he found it and said he wanted to give it to me.  So cute.  A little while later, they came in with a daffodil that had been knocked down by a branch.
  • Tots and I had a pleasant walk down to the playground.  I swear we’ve seen these two kids and their dad somewhere, maybe the playground.  Their dad and I talked about places we’ve lived, and the kids had a good time playing in the car and boat things, and going down the slide.
  • We got sandwiches for dinner from Subway.  Tots ate the stuff inside his sandwich, a few bites of bread and some stuff from my sandwich.  We rarely give him sugary stuff, but sometimes it’s okay.  I gave him half of the sugar cookie he got in his kids’ meal.  After he ate most of his half, he came up to me with the very last piece and tried to give it to me.  So sweet.  I let him have it, so he thanked me.
  • I finally got myself up to clean our bunny’s cage.  We had to put the bunny in the bathtub with a towel to sit on because he slides around in there.  He doesn’t like that.  Tots and Pi watched him while I took the cage outside to hose it off.
  • Since we had dinner about an hour earlier than normal, I had a bunch of extra time to kill before the show-bath-story-teeth-bed routine.  For the first time in years I took a bath.  Instead of the quick in-and-out shower, I got to lay around for forty-five minutes.  Instead of hearing the door banging, and "What are you doing, Mommy?  What are you doing?" kind of showers.  I got to listen to Pi and Tots make music.  It’s the little things in life that make life wonderful.
  • Pi bought a cheesecake yesterday.  Today, we each at a quarter of it.  "Nuff said.
  • I’m reading The Invention of Hugo Cabret.  It’s a young adult book, but I loved the movie.  It’s really thick, but once I started reading it, I realized that it has a lot of amazing illustrations.  When they made it into the movie "Hugo" they really did it justice.

This was more than I wanted to write.  I’ve got a couple of shows to watch, a crossword to attempt and a book or two to read.  So, goodnight!
