the light in the window

It is a dark chilly night In port orchard where the wind blows and frost covers the ground. The world is asleep, people dreaming, animals snoring, and yet there is one light on in the house at 7242. That is hannahs room of course. shes always up later than she should be, distracted by one thing or another. her room is dimly lit as she sits on her bed with her cat sleeping at her side, typing fervently away at the computer. her expression is tense and her mind is gone somewhere deep, deep into her subconcious. this is where she always goes when she writes. drifting off into another world of thoughts. sometimes its pure emagination that provokes it, sometimes emotion, or sometimes just life. the plain and simple thoughts about her ongoing day. she has no idea exactly how important this diary will become.

years from now when she is old and frail ,her children will still enjoy reading of her many adventures, or just see that their mother is more understanding then they thought. for she was also at one time, living the certain stages in life that they will live . falling in love, getting your heart broken, feeling that parental rules are just so unfair, losing a loved one or a pet, and hopefully that will comfort them.  and hopefully they too will begin diaries of their own, relenquishing their emotions and thoughts onto paper or even a computer of some sort like their mother. and then they too will begin to discover themselves more and more every time they decide to go back and read something from a few years previous.

it is always a surprise how much we change,
how much we grow,
how quickly time passes…..

and how little time we have.

Hah, not from another country, unless Florida counts. I guess the last thing I wrote on red robot confused you, so I figured I would make it worse.(I know, I am kind of a jerk!) “dark is the suede…” is just a quote from ‘Mars Attacks!’ Pretty though, isn’t it?
