One Day Of Fame!

 

My mom told me "Hannah! Cindy Alvarez called some of the local papers telling them about you being an extra in the film of Twlight! I just thought I’d give ya a heads up in case somebody calls!" She winked at me.

I thought that it was very nice of Cindy to do that for me, but I really doubted anyone would really be interested in that. I mean I was ONLY an extra and a stand in! I didn’t actually have a part in the film!

Either way, a few days later Inga ( my nail and skin care lady for over 8 years and very good friend) was at my house doing my nails when I got a call from Chris Henry, a reporter for the Kitsap Sun newspaper! She asked me if it would be alright to do an article on me and so of course I obliged. It was a little frustrating being that my mom was there talking in my ear the entire time, but yea.

Next thing you know , it is Thursday morning ( the day Chris said they would run the story) and I get a text message from a guy I knew from highschool telling me that I was on the main page of kitsapsun.com! Later on I was so surprised to find myself on the FRONT PAGE of the newspaper! I didn’t think i’d be on the FRONT!

Then around 4ish I was out with my mom helping her do errands when my cousin Kyran calls telling me that KING5 news had just called the house phone wanting to talk to me, so he gave them my cell phone number. OMG…WHAT? I could already tell my mom was about to go into her excited freaking out mode so I gave her a warning look and she understood it right away lol.

Alyssa Hahn from King5 called and said they had seen my article in the paper and were interested in coming to my house that evening from Seattle for an interview! THIS EVENING? DRIVING FROM SEATTLE JUST TO SEE ME? This was weird, shocking, overwelming, and exciting at the same time! As soon as I hung up the phone my mom was like "AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" lol

They were going to be at our house by 5:30 or 6 so when we got home we busted our butts..

The entire pool table was covered with piles of junk and the dining room table was the  same way! We didn’t have time to go through and organize everything so we threw it all into big boxes and hid them in the back room. Then I vaccumed the living room and entry way while my mom cleaned up the kitchen, lit candles. and made punch.

I had only a little bit of time to become camera ready, choosing a black form fitting turtle neck , curled hair, and simple makeup. Alyssa arrived with her camera man Erick and they were very pleasant guests! My mom and I kept our mouths shut when they commented on how nice and clean our house looked. haha…if they were only there an hour earlier….

Weirdly enough… before they arrived I was super nervous, but once I was settled in the chair with the mic attached and talking with Alyssa, I felt completely relaxed and myself. I think it had to do with the fact that I was in my own home, and not some strange intimidating studio. You know?

Soon they left, and I made sure to tune in at ten to see myself.

what they didn’t show , was that before the interview they had put my headshot up, and zoomed in so much that my face took up the entire screen! I was totally not expecting that….lol nor did I expect my video to be the top video on king5news.com of the day, and that i would get so much speaking time during it!

It was all so much exposure for one day I couldn’t believe it! As soon as we watched It I was getting tons of texts and phone calls from all of my friends. It made me very happy to know that they tuned in to see me 🙂 I am so lucky to have such encouraging and supportive people in my life.

Not much later I was headed to the theater with Cindy, Inga, my mom , her friend Bregita, and my cousin Kyran to meet up with my friends Jon, Courtney, Sean and Jimmy!

Even though we had already bought our tickets we were SO lucky to get seats together! Jon was able to save two extra seats for kyran and I, and the grownups had to go into the other theater to find seats. I was sad that we couldn’t all sit together but at least they didn’t get seperated!

Was I in the movie? Yes I was 🙂 But unless I pointed myself out you would not know it was me! I am so tiny that I am unrecognizeable! During the scene where Bella, Angela, and Jessica are looking at prom dresses in Port Angeles, theres a park in the background where people are walking. I am the person with the fedora hat, greenish scarf, and brown jacket with jeans. I think I flip my hair once lol. In the diner scene, when they focus on the three people sitting on the couch. when they show the last person you see a tiny bit of my elbow.

Am I dissapointed that I wasn’t shown more in the film? Eh, not really! Because It was enough for me to be watching the film during certain scenes and knowing that I was there…I was there right behind the camera watching that being filmed! I was in that same room!

By the way the movie was great! Some may have thought "no way, how can two people fall in love so deeply after not even really knowing eachother for that long?" I could understand why many would have that thought., but what I think is that the whole "getting to know someone" part of falling in love isn’t what the movie is about! It’s about two people who find eachother, and just…KNOW. It’s like…two puzzle pieces meeting and realizing at once that the other is it’s perfect fit. Believe it or not…it is rare, but there are incidents like that with people….where you just have a feeling like you’ve known them forever, or that for some reason they are supposed to be a significant part of your life.

That is what is so beautiful about the love between Bella and Edward.  I feel bad for those who didn’t read the book before watching the film, because it is so much more exciting watching it after reading….I can’t even explain! It makes a lot more sense too. OH MY GOSH I can’t wait for the next one! I have to find a way to see if there will be any open calls!
