mom and me day at the spa!

Dear diary, (decided to start with that for old times sake)
so its late and im not the least bit tired! I have to wake up at 9 tomorrow for work. i know i know boo hoo poor me complain but hey im not a morning person at all! im definitely a night owl. hmm lets see its actually like almost 10 to midnioooh shit! i forgot to take my birth control! (back in a flash) ok so now its 12:07. I also remembered to brush my teeth and take my contacts out. annnny who  today was my very first day at a spa! Now, ive always known what a spa was, butt what i didnt know (haha i spelled but like butt by accident….you will see why that will be funny)  was that all the women would be naked! I told my mom that i was going to go in my bikini anyway and take it off ONLY if i was comfortable and she just shrugged and said "ok , but you will be the one embarrassed because you will be the only one in a swimsuit!" i took her word for it and decided to brave it. its only like going back to highschool in gym class, except in front of even more women of all ages! any who at least i was with my mom.
so when we arrived at the olympus day spa for women i wasnt that impressed, the outside of the building didnt look like much and its location was off the side of a busy 4 lane tacoma way street! but when we stepped inside it was glorious! You pay, and they give you a fresh clean robe and two towels and a key. you go into the next room and take off your shoes and then go into the next room where you unlock your numbered locker (that matched the numbered key) and change into your robe! THEEEN (only if you want to) you go into the connecting korean restaurant (the spa was runned by koreans) barefoot and naked (accept for a robe) and eat just like that! so cool so far huh? then after you eat and drink (you need to be hydrated the entire time because you lose weight from sweating) you go into the spa room where there are 5 different pools.
the hottest one is 104degrees, the next one is 100 degrees, the next one is 94 degrees, then 90 degrees, and then theres an absolutely freezing pool with a freezing cold waterfall too! and only the brave go into that. My mom bet me 5 bucks that i couldnt go from the hot one to the cold one and go under the waterfall, but i did it! and it felt soooo good! haha. also, every time you get out of a pool you go over to this fountain that has this big tea-bag looking thing of herbs and medicines in it and you splash it over yourself with these big ladel-like things. i forgot the name of the stuff but its supposed to detox your body of all inpurities and such. and then after the pools you can either go into the dry sauna heat room or the steam sauna heat room! now, you know when your bathroom gets a little too steamy because your water is so hott and you have a little trouble breathing? well this room was like sooooo steamy you couldnt see the person sitting across from you! and it was a really small room! when i first entered i thought i would suffocate! but i found that if i layed back and breathed slowly and deep i got used to it. and then i sat in there with my mom and sweated i swear like a pound off. and then we went to the silent rooms!
now this is so cool. there are 3 different silent rooms where you go in, shut the door and lie down and relax. each room is very dimly lit, no sound, and has warming floors and detoxifiers! There was a sand room, mud room, and something else ( i forget) but my mom and i only had time for one before our scrub apointment (you have to be in the pools and steam room an hour or so before if you are having a scrub so that your skin can come off easier)  so we walked in and theres this huge cloth spread out over the entire floor of the room and underneath it is sand. and then there were these heated sand bags you use to put under your neck and head when you lay down. ahhhh it was soooo relaxing. then after that we went in for our scrubs! now mind you, this was my first time and it was a bit awkward. these korean ladies are pro at this, giving people full body scrubs, and then moisturizing them with aloevera, milk, and honey! And they even do a real cucumber mask! i mean, they literally put smashed up cucumber all over my face, no chemicals added nadda nothing! just cucumber!
any who so this lady wanda scrubbed me all over i mean ALL OVER for an hour, and boy did it hurt! it was scratchy! but she sure did get all the dead skin off! my mom was next to me. all the while the korean ladies were talkin about their lives and us. i wouldnt be surprised if they were makin fun because every once in a while i could tell they were talking about me or my mom and then giggling. lol but oh well, that was sorta the fun of it! korean ladies are very entertaining people they really are! they dont care who you are , they will say shit to you right to your face, or just say anything in general! and they are sooo bossy! at least the ones at the spa were today. any who wanda was really nice and she did a really good job! i felt like i was a celebrity, like jennifer aniston getting her star treatment of the day, being massaged and beautified. ah. i just layed there with my cucumber mask on and basked in the smell of sweet honey and milk being poured over my body and massaged in.
the scrub was an hour and the moisturizing was an hour. what i really loved was after each time wanda scrubbed me or soaped me up, she would pour this huge bowl of warm water over me to rinse me off and it was just warming all over! i loved it! any who, my skin has never felt or looked better, and i swear i mean I SWEAR when i got out of the spa and looked in the mirror , i looked skinnier!  i was like wtf? lol any who i definitely want to go again, i loved it! i cant believe i never did it before! its grose to think about how much dead skin is actually on me and how ive never had it scrubbed off before, ew. now im all newly skinned and fresh and soft as a babys bottom! sigh.
after the spa my mom and i went across the street to the korean market! it was so awesome! i love going into foreign stores because its like going to another country! when you go into the mexican store you see things you never see, same with the phillipino store! and this store was so cool! there were soo many things i have never seen ever! it was like being in korea! all the cakes and candys were so cutely decorated too with little anime creatures and such and korean language printing all over! i definitely want to go back. i got myself a lot of pockey, and this thing thats called peanut butter crust that i have nevere seen before! its kina like a giant oval shaped cookie but looks like a dutch apple pie crust? and has some sort of filling in between. any who this is getting long and ive got to go to bed, but this was one of the best days ever! I really needed this ^_^ sigh,
i love you mom ^_^
