kyran broke his wrist!

I really don’t feel like writing, but there is so much I need to catch up on in here. Thing is I can never just write one entry, because there are always private matters I like to adress as well. So then I usually end up writing two entries… one public and one private, or for faveorites only.

So I was thinking that maybe I would start writing only private entries from now on, at least for a while, but then I thought, it is so much easier to update my friends on how i’ve been doing if they can just take a looksee in here every now and then. So what, I do a little extra writing? No big deal I suppose. I’ll keep things the way they are. I mean, I am still writing for myself, not for the public eye.

I am not out to hurt anyone’s feelings, but I still write about whatever I feel like writing about. Whether it be my day, venting about some stupid situation, or simply posting a poem or quote that I feel moved by. *shrugs*

When it comes to writing I don’t want to be worrying about what others will think of it, or what their comments might be. People have a right to their opinion if I leave these entries open for public. So I cannot ridicule them for posting something I don’t agree with or don’t happen to like. However, a plainly rude or harsh comment is never appreciated.

Well then, after those thoughts. Here’s an update.

Today, while I was out to lunch with my mom, we got a call from an emt telling us that my cousin kyran had got in a car accident and they were taking him to harrison hospital. The second I heard my mom on the phone say "OH MY GOD IS HE OKAY?" i freaked! But we were relieved to hear that other than a broken wrist, there didn’t seem to be any injuries, but they wanted to make sure there were no internal ones ,since his car was so badly totalled. The other person in the accident was a bit shaken up but she was fine.

So my mom and I boxed up our remaining food and drove straight to urgent care where they had taken him. Turns out…his scaphoid and carpals were completely severed from his ulna and radius!  Pretty much…there was no torn flesh, but the only thing connecting his hand to his arm was the tissue in between. The arm bones were below his hand.  The good news was that it was a clean break and there were no fractures in the middle of any of the bones!

I really wanted to post a picture of his x-ray but I could not find my cell phone memory card anywhere! 😛 oh well. another time.

The doctors had to put Kyran under while they pushed the bones back in place and supported it with a splint. As of now he is on percocet for pain and awaiting news of when he will be able to schedule a surgery. Unfortunately this injury can cause him the loss of his arm if not handled with care and fixed with correctional surgery soon. So poor Kyran is stuck at home for the week on a couch.  lol well I am sure he’s not missing school that much.

I’m just so glad he is okay!
