im a poet dontcha know it?

recently something motivated me to dig out a bunch of old poems written by me when I was younger. I guess I stopped writing poems because….well I actually do not know why. I should try and start again.

These poems are not spectacular in the least, and that is why not too many people have seen them.  My poetry is more for me than it is for an audience. It’s been a few years since ive gone back to read it all.

But before I post my poetry, here are a few of my faveorite poems that I am sure most people would recognize.

Shall I Compare Thee To a Summers Day?
       by William Shakespeare

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date.
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm’d;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature’s changing course untrimm’d;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander’st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

Love Without Love
by Luis Llorens Torres

I love you, because in my thousand and one nights of dreams,
I never once dreamed of you

I looked down paths that traveled from afar,
but it was never you I expected.

Suddenly I’ve felt you flying through my soul
in quick, lofty flight,

and how beautiful you seem way up there, far
from my always idiot heart!

Love me that way, flying over everything.

And, like the bird on its branches, land in my arms

only to rest,

then fly off again.

Be not like the romantic ones who, in love, set me on fire.
When you climb up my mansion

enter so lightly, that as you enter

the dog of my heart will not bark.

When I Was One and Twent
 y
by A.E Housman

When I was one-and-twenty
I heard a wise man say
Give crowns and pounds and guineas
But not your heart away

Give pearls away and rubies
But keep your fancy free
But I was one-and-twenty
No use to talk to me

When I was one-and-twenty
I heard him say again
The heart out of the bosom
 Was never given in vain
Tis paid with sighs a plenty
  And sold for endless rue
 And I am two-and-twenty

And oh tis true, tis true

and now, a few poems I have written. I think when was 13 or 14? Not sure.

Changes In The Sky
by Hannah Spool
(all rights reserved)

As I lay on the grass I look up at the sky
and the clouds that are fluffy and white,

But soon they turn into bright shining stars
that sparkle throughout the night.

And the moon glimmers softly, giving light,
until the darkness runs away.

Then the sun comes up at the break of dawn
to begin a brand new day.

Wish On A Star
by Hannah Spool
(all rights reserved)

When you wish on a star, what does that mean?
Do you think that the wish will come true?

I wished that at night you are thinking of me
at the same time I’m thinking of you.

When you wish on a star, what do you wish?
Do you wish for a sparkling diamond ring?

I would, but instead of just getting one,
I’d want my lover to bring it to me.

When you wish on a star, do you think it will work?
Cause I did, and I hope it comes true.

I wished you would someday be mine til the end.
Because I’m in love with you.

Christmas Day

Little, tiny, snowflakes
falling
through the frosty air

you can hear the laughter
of the children
everywhere

sleighbells ringing
people singing
in a joyful way

snowing,blowing
candles glowing

It is Christmas day!

The One For Me
by Hannah Spool
(all rights reserved)

Somewhere
out there
there is the one for me.

A guy who’s love will fill my heart
and his c

are will be so sweet.

He will be the one to cheer me up when im sad
cause when he holds me in his arms I suddenly won’t feel so bad.

Whenever I am crying he will wipe my tears away
while whispering in my ear nice things that make me feel okay.

And when I’m feeling lonely cause he’s very far away
He’ll write me letters saying that he misses me every day.

Then when we’re all alone and I look into his eyes
he suddenly pulls me close to him and kisses me by surprise!

Somewhere
out there
there is the one for me.

and I wish apon each star tonight that someday
we will meet.

there are so many more, but oh i just happened apon one that i wrote quite recently actually! lol
I was talking to a friend on msn messenger and told her to pick any word and i’d make a poem out of it.

she chose chicken. and so heres what i wrote on a whim lol.

Chicken
by Hannah Spool

I love chicken cause its fricken good!
if i could have it every night you know that i would!

chicken is a faveorite food all over the world!
sauted chicken , fried chicken, stewed chicken, grilled!

my friend has pet chickens but she still likes to eat it, and i guess the chickens like chicken too because sometimes thats what she feeds it!

animal right protectionist think its cruel to eat birds, but living on tofu? thats a little absurd.

a chicken lays the eggs that you buy at the store, that you eat, use to bake, and a whole lot more.

so dont give me turkey, and dont take me fishin! all i want for dinner is chicken! yea!

BWAHAHAHAHA! lol man I cannot believe how nerdy I am lol….I think one time when I was drunk I wrote a poem about cheezits too…..those are so fricken good…mmm i think im gonna go eat some now lol.
