I have an addiction

to sugar… and carbs. You might as well call them the same thing. This wasn’t a problem when I was going to the gym five days a week, but in the last six years, flying all the time for work has slowly taken it’s toll. And when You stop going to the gym and don’t change your diet, weight gain is in inevitable.

Some say I’m overreacting since I’ve only gone from 120 pounds to 135, Then one of the lucky ones that gains weight evenly all over, but who’s to say I won’t be another 10 pounds heavier in six more years? It’s better to change habits now than to have to lose 20 pounds instead of 10. Actually, I don’t even want to lose 10. I’d be happy with 8.

I don’t even own a scale at home. The only time I ever get weighed is at the doctors office once or twice a year. But even before I was told the number I could already tell since I couldn’t get on my favorite jeans and my my favorite jacket wouldnt button. This is the first time in my life I’ve had to go up a clothing size. I guess it comes with age as well. And now that I’m in my 30s I have noticed my metabolism slowing.

So now I am trying to figure out a solution. I don’t want the gold me Weight loss really. I just want it to be a healthy lifestyle change. I need to make time to work out while I am away from home, and if not I need to get in locker workouts during the weekends. I need to make it a priority and also cut down on sugar and carbs, which is going to be the hardest.

That will be the trickiest solution. How to cut off those cravings. To check my mind and keep myself distracted. Especially when I am around chocolate covered almonds, biscoff cookies, and many types of sugary drinks all day.

If anyone has suggestions please let me know! Has something work for you? Or do I just have to quit cold turkey and tough it out? Go through the withdrawals? UGH.
