grrrr

i wrote a whole long entry yesterday and for some reason it didnt save! so now im going to have to make a summary of recent events. eh hem. cough cough. so i wasnt able to be home for the evening of the 4th since i had to be back in ellensburg that day so i had an earlier celebration on the evening of the third! it was really fun! we had burgurs and fireworks and smearnof and it was a really nice night. i hit my foot with one of the blasts from the roman candle. (dont ask)  and i almost blew up my neighbors dock but hey it was all good haha. so i celebrated the 4th sitting in my dorm eating chocolate pudding. yum! today i found out that i was the only one from the mammoth dig that was shown on komo 4 news on saturday! i was so excited! i was bummed that i didnt get to see it so hopefully i can get ahold of a copy from the news station. also today on the dig i found a small chunk of chert (glasslike rock that our ancestors used to make arrowheads out of) and it was what i had been looking for for my rock collection! my professors were really impressed with the find because they said it was rare to find a whole piece that wasnt crumbling apart or already in bits and pieces! i was really happy with my treasure find ^_^. another rock for my collection that i found myself! and after the dig i put money in the vending machine to get some orange juice and 2 of them came out instead of one! today was just a good day ^_^ later dane called saying he had to show me this awesome place he knew about. so we went to get tacos and then drove up this mountain on the other end of ellensburg. he took me up to this absolutely fucking gorgetous place. it was like a place that i would see in my dreams. or when i close my eyes and emagine a place i would go to for solitude, this was it. it was like heaven on earth, breathtaking. hills and fields covered and a sea of purple lupin and other colorful orange and yellow and pink flowers for miles. beautiful mountain top ledges with gorgeous views of the trees and landscape. it was so peaceful and quiet and there was a slight wind. i stood on the edge of one of the ledges looking out over the vast landscape, so high up. and i let the wind whip my hair and held my arms out. right then i really wished i could have soared over that view. it was just amazing. im so glad dane showed me these places so that i can show my friends when they come! it makes me feel like im back in alaska when i see places like that and im not as homesick anymore. sigh. it made my day. tomorrow hopefully its not as hot a day. it sucks working under the sweltering heat. we’ve gotten pretty far on our unit though. almost 60 centemeters down! well i guess i will write more soon!
