A Whole New World
I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me princess
Now when did you last let your heart decide?
I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over sideways and under on a magic carpet ride
A whole new world!
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no
Or where to to
Or to say we’re only dreaming
A whole new world
A dazzling place i never knew
But when I’m way up here
It’s crystal clear
That now I’m in a whole new world with you
Now I’m in a whole new world with you
Unbelievable sights
Indescribable feelings
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through and endless diamond sky
A whole new world !
Don’t you dare close your eyes
A hundred thousand things to see
Hold your breath it gets better
I’m like a shooting star
I’ve come so far
I can’t go back to where I used to be
A whole new world
every turn a surprise
With new horizons to pursue
Every moment red-letter
I’ll chase them anywhere
There’s time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you
A whole new world
A whole new world
That’s where we’ll be
That’s where we’ll be
A thrilling chase
A wonderous place
For you and me.

Aladdin – A Whole New World
=================================================================
Strange that I’d find inspiration in Disney now that I’m nearly 21 (and male). It suits though, more than I thought such things could. Slowly, patiently all the things in my life are shifting into completely different things. And they’re amazing, incredible things….I’m starting to touch on amazing new things, I can feel it. I can’t describe the emotions well yet; they’re too new and I don’t understand them well yet nor what causes them outside of being kind and happy and helpful to others outside of me. If I can reach deeper and pull it out more…it’s going to be amazing. Fufilling in ways I never really though possible. A whole new world…a part of the world she showed me….that’s where we’ll be. I just wish I could share it more with her. She’s told me that I probably need to start letting go. But how can I really, honestly at this point? I’m not about to let myself let go of the things that brought me here to the first place. Too often people forget to honour, care, and remember the things that brought them to where they are. The past is a very important amazing thing. No, I’m not going to let go. That’d be unfaithful for everything I’m trying to become. So while it means hurting I’m going to do it anyway. A whole new world, that’s where I’ll be.
The movies of the Disney Renaissance had quite a bit of artistic merit to them. Personally, I detest Disney movies simply because I have an ex who adores them, but I don’t deny their merit. They can be overlooked easily. When someone wants you to get over it, it’s just their way of wanting to get out of your head. …

… I’m probably not over my ex of two and a half years, but the pain has long past, and it’s not like she’s ever been even close to the same person she was. Forgetfulness is a burden. Unfortunately, it tends to happen sooner or later, it’s necessary. The real challenge is remembering and honoring the experience after the hurt is gone. Difficult, but it can be done.
