the earth moved….
to those old FOD friends that know me as Pollywolz, I just want to say I have missed you guys. Sorry but I am away down south visiting family for a week or so and cannot write in my diary due to forgetting the password. Silly me! Seems the only solution is to start a new one until I get myself home and my computer there gets fixed ( its truly blown a gasket at present) then I WILL RETURN!!!!! meantime I have lots to catch up on.
Down here in lower south island of NZ (truly VERY south)
we had a huge earthquake the other night. I was so glad I was here with my family as I would have worried myself silly about them. Anyway it was a great experience in one sense. The quake measured 7.1 (rs)and hit here in Queenstown around 12:15 in night…shaking us from slumber. Due to my still painful and stiff injured knee it took me ages to get from bed to doorway and in less time than that my daughter had streaked from her and hubby’s room other end of house to get to the terrified kids. Hubby was a bit slower and the big strong brave dog Saffron slept through it all !!! Typical!! Daughter kept reassuring kids it was all ok and we were all together and thats what mattered…I was so proud of them all…handled it well. Made me realise just how much stronger a mother’s maternal instinct is even compared to that of an animals instinct! Apparently the quake was so powerful it was even felt over in Australia….we here in QT are only about 200kms from the epicentre. Needless to say we didn’t sleep much that night or next, through all the aftershocks etc….and even last night had another small quake. Talk about rock and roll!!!
Anyway sore leg is slowly improving and I am totally enjoying this time of being pampered and loved by the family. Friend Gloria is caring for my cats and home while I am away….she’s a great friend. My computer blew again after I thought I had fixed it so is away being seen to. At least now with this new diary I can access and note you all from other peoples computers.
I will stay tuned….hope you do too. Love ya’ all..you come back now, ya’ hear?
maybe it was Waiheke, or Oneroa, or Matiatia, or……well you’ve prob tried the most likely onew. Great that you’re back, yes that shake was a bit of a major, glad no injuries sustained…hugs

Thanks for your note. We heard about the quake and aftershocks – glad all are OK. I’ve never been in an earthquake but it sounds scary. Funny how your daughter’s hubby was a bit slower than she was to respond – perhaps he would have been quicker if he’d been alone with the kids . . . hope so anyway. 🙂 My computer is now fixed; it needed a new modem.
