Gypsy still Spirited
Is it really four years? So much has happened and some of us kept in contact on another site, but although it was good most of us really missed Open Diary. There were so many lovely special features on this site. Loyalty obviously pays off and real friends stay in contact.
During the time since OD closed my life has changed considerably too. I have moved home a couple of times including now to a new city area far from the island where I spent most of my previous 30 years. I never thought city life would work for me but I found a rental on the outskirts and right by the ocean….as long as I have the sea I feel whole. And because my age has impacted a little on health and mobility this is good move too because the area is flat for walking and the neighbours wonderfully friendly.
Also during this time my younger child – my son Reuben, got married and they are now proud and adoring parents of a beautiful little girl. They have bought their own home in Australia and seem to be thriving. My daughter lives here in this city with her husband of many years and their two offspring are not too far away, so I also get to see more of them and the precious now adult grandchildren. Life is good.
So here we are, I still enjoy photography and writing as much as possible, but no long have a car so am dependent on buses or family to get around to those marvelous locations I enjoy. There are plenty of choices down here.
Overall, life continues to flow gracefully but with the occasional hiccup to remind me not to get too complacent. Our NZ summer has just started with a bang and a whizz…..time now for some cool cordial and a good book for the day.
I will try photos next entry…
hugs P
Welcome back Ms P. It’s so good to see you here at our new OD. The DM is still ironing out a few bugs but, I think it’s still going to have that same old ‘home/family’ community feeling. Time will tell. I hope it thrives and becomes so much better than it was before but, keeps that family feeling.
Yes, you’ve been through many changes in the last four years. Some of them fabulous ones for your family too. It’ll take a while to get used to being here but, Maui Jim is here and no doubt a few others now who you used to be friends with. Hugs 🙂
