Quickie

Just squeezing in a quick entry, while I wait for everyone on WOW to get ready. (Yes, I play WOW, no, it does not destroy my life).

I’m in Virginia right now – school work is about to start, and I just drove down from New York today with Jeannie. The drive took 5 hours, but it was pretty uneventful – paid +$15 in road tolls, but my iPhone pretty much led me to the destination. I love my iPhone! Google Maps on the iPhone is amazing…. It even has this “triangulate” feature now. You press it, and it gives you a pretty good indication of where you are on the map. Absolutely a life saver when you get lost.

We checked out the apartment we are renting, and it is pretty nice! A little small, but seems to be recently renovated, and the neighbourhood is awesome! Very quiet, safe, pretty neighbourhood with a park and lots of food and stores in walking distance. The current tenants haven’t moved out yet – I’ll be moving in on Tuesday. As of now I’m staying at a friend’s place!

Anyway… latest update – I had a backup visa plan for working in the US, in case I didn’t get the H1-B work visa. But 2 weeks ago my company told me that they made a mistake, and the backup option is in fact not viable for me (I’m not eligible). So now I’m kind of screwed… if I don’t get the H1-B visa, I’m going to have to leave the country… and there’s >50% chance that I won’t get it. So… fingers crossed, or yours truly is going to out of a job. Sigh…

It’s super stressful… and I’ll find out about the status of my visa mid April. I’m just trying to not think about it till then. If any of you know any contacts in consulting outside of the US, pull some strings for me! I promise I’m crazy smart!!!

Which leads me onto my grades for last term! All A’s!!! Yay!
I think I never got below a 95 on any exam last term, lol… and there were 6. Even when the class average was 75 on the final!

Yay for Leo!

Ok. Less bragging more playing. Cya!
