Finally restored

It’s taken a week, but my diary has finally been restored. I spent some time going through my old entries, and even with them on private, I want them gone. They were horribly depressing to look back on. Lost friendships, deaths, financial missteps, etc. The only exception to this is the entries dedicated to my family first pregnancy and son. I’ve been trying to delete the others one by one, but that’s going to take forever. I haven’t found a way to remove them in bulk yet. Deleting the chapters as a whole doesn’t work either. I am happy this site it back but it appears to be lacking some really basic/needed features. It needs some improvements before I commit to paying. I was able to find some of my old favorites in my recovered notes though, so that’s exciting.

It was….a weekend.

S has been grounded from his electronics for 3 weeks now. He broke an Xbox game in half “accidentally” a while back and didn’t even bother to apologize. A day after that he was babysitting M for 30 minutes and apparently not paying much attention. M knocked over a very heavy mirror in the foyer putting 2 holes in the wall and taking a monster chip out of the hardwood. When you’re babysitting, you’re responsible – bottom line. M should have never had time to do that. Needless to say, I blew my lid. His attitude has been shit for months and the back talking and disrespect is out of control. K and I compiled a long list of daily chores worth dollar amounts. He needed to earn $100 to pay us back for the game, purchase the wall putty, and pay for our time to spackle/sand/paint. Today he was supposed to get his electronics back but pretty much spent the weekend bitching about everything. He did end up getting his remotes & phone back this afternoon, but not before a major blow out between he and I. We’ll see how long he can keep it. I think we’re going to have him continue the chores he’s been doing.

Tomorrow M has speech. I’d really rather not take him, but he’s missed quite a few appointments lately. He started coughing earlier this week and now it’s getting worse. They had a snow day Friday and that’s when the fever started. It has stuck around all weekend along with a runny nose. Their district is closed again tomorrow (teacher in-service, not snow day) so I am hoping the extra time will help him recover. If he’s running a fever tomorrow we will probably call and cancel. Ms. Jenn has a baby herself; we don’t need to spread this nastiness.

K & I are sitting here waiting for the Super Bowl to end. I don’t have a dog in this fight, but GD I don’t like Eagles fans. I’d be ok with them losing lol. I made some buffalo chicken dip and deviled eggs and we had pizza at home. I was more interested in the halftime show (JT was ok but the sound was disappointing) and This Is Us after. I need to know how Jack dies. I haven’t been this emotionally invested in a show since binging the first 10 seasons of Grey’s Anatomy on Netflix.

Here’s to a good week.

I think his punishment totally suits the crime. good for you for teaching him he can’t just break stuff or lack mindfulness!
